Fourth Annual Event Hosted by Seabury Hall
Seabury Hall hosted its fourth annual Maui Math Challenge on Saturday, January 30, 2016. The math contest was open to all 3rd, 4th and 5th graders on Maui. This year’s contest included 10 schools. Competing were Carden Academy of Maui, Emmanuel Lutheran School, Haiku Elementary School, Kahului Elementary School, Kamalii Elementary School, Kula Elementary School, Makawao Elementary School, Montessori School of Maui, Pomaikai Elementary School, and Pukalani Elementary School. A total of over 100 elementary students competed.

The results are as follows:

Team competition:

1. Pukalani Elementary School
2. Pomaikai Elementary School
3. Kahului Elementary School

Overall individual competition:

1. Derek Takeno (Pomaikai Elementary School)
2. Maya Ito (Pukalani Elementary School)
3. Akira Iwata (Kahului Elementary School)

Countdown Round (head to head game show style competition):

On January 24, 2015 five ELS students went to The Seabury Hall Math Competition. The Seabury Hall Maui Math Challenge is a math competition for elementary school students in grades 3, 4, and 5 from public, private, and home-schools throughout Maui County. This year our team won first place in the team competition. Marissa also won second place in the fourth grade category.
