And just like that, a senior of 9 years with me, 11 years total, is off to a new season. I am so proud of all that she has accomplished and the tools she has to make music on her own.

I will miss you Lily and am so looking forward to hearing about new adventures!

Sharing our winter weather plan ahead of the possible snow.

Morning lessons follow the King’s Local School District closure decisions. Afternoon and evening lessons are decided by noon based on road conditions.

If we need to switch formats, lessons will move to asynchronous and I’ll send your link on your lesson day.

Recital students only: for this week, we will meet on Zoom so we can check in on recital pieces together.

This past Saturday, our studio had 14 Piano Gymnastics participants!!! Lots of ribbons for everyone and two plaques for our seniors. So proud of these students 👏 ❤️

Congratulations to student, Isabella, for participating in the Keyboard Teacher's Association annual Master Class 👏🎶

One student from each participating studio is selected to perform a piece for the masterclass. A piano masterclass is pretty much a group lesson where students perform a prepared piece for a master teacher/clinician, who then provides individualized feedback and instruction in front of an audience.

Isabella performed 'Sombe the Night Is' by Barbara Arens and gained some incredible tips, tricks, and insight from this year's Master Clinician, Christina Whitlock

Congrats to Isabella and all of the participating students! It was a day filled with incredible music and learning together 🎶👏🎹❤️

Current Happenings at Piano Kats!

January has been full of musical fun and here is what we are working towards...

🥳 Happy Birthday Project! Every February we have a BIG birthday performance class party with balloons, cake, games, and of course every student performs their own rendition of Happy Birthday. We start prepping in January and the creativity is always fun to watch.

🎹 Master Class! Every year, one student is chosen to represent the studio for the Keyboard Teacher's Association Master Class. Congrats to Isabella, who will be playing Sombre the Night Is by Barbara Arens, for our Master Clinician Christina Whitlock

🎥 Our Silent Film project, in March, will quickly creep up, and pieces and information will be given out next week! Stay tuned!

✨️ Congrats to several students who are celebrating their piano anniversaries (cheers William to 6 years!)

🎶 And of course, students have been practicing hard towards their selected medals for their Honors Program selections. They have been cruising through the sticker sheets (which keeps me on my toes with making sure we have plenty in stock!)
