We are excited to spotlight the amazing staff at Maiden High School! 💙🤍

Each week, we will feature a different department and introduce you to the incredible people who make MHS such a special place for our students and families.

This week we introduce our English Department.

Mrs. Maggie Smith
I have been teaching since 2014 and teaching at Maiden for 3 years.

Ms. Sigmon
This is my second year teaching English 1 at MHS, My favorite part about teaching is making authentic connections that benefit students in their lives. I am ignited by the desire to be a positive influence and encourage creative/critical thinking.

Mr. Jenkins
This is my 5th year of teaching. Fourth year at Maiden. The thing that ignites me most is having the opportunity to help our students and providing them with the tools to improve their lives as they continue to grow.
Mr. Rhyne
Began teaching in 1991 in a part time role. Began full time at East Lincoln and was there for 10 years before coming to MHS. I taught here for 22 years, retired, came back to a half time position and I am in the same classroom that I retired from. Students asking questions that come from sincere curiosity "ignites" me; to see an interest from the kids.

Mrs. Elliott
This is year 20 for me, 18 in the elementary world, 2nd year at MHS and loving it. What ignites me is my passion for truly living life. After two second chances at life, I have learned not to sweat the small stuff and actually LIVE.

McGovern
This is my 23rd year of teaching and 13th year at MHS. I taught at my alma mater (East Burke) for ten years. What ignites me is working for the best possible future for my students and this community.

Due to the possibility of thunderstorms on Thursday, , Maiden will be hosting AC Reynolds in JV football tomorrow Wednesday at 6:30 pm

🏈 JV Football vs. A.C. Reynolds
⏰ Kickoff: 6:30 PM
⚽ Men’s Soccer vs. Bandys
⏰ Game Time: 6:00 PM
🎟️ Ticket Booth Opens: 5:30 PM
The same ticket booth will be used for admission to both the JV football and soccer games.
