Pruth is gaining valuable real-world experience through our Thunderbird Career & Academic Internship Program! As a student in the Engineering & Technology Pathway, Pruth is interning at Leistritz Advanced Technologies, where he is gaining hands-on experience in quality control and manufacturing.

Throughout his internship, Pruth has reviewed blueprints, inspected inventory, and assisted with the assembly of parts. He has also gained valuable experience in quality control and quality assurance involving ship components, motors, and pump casings. These hands-on experiences are giving Pruth the opportunity to apply his engineering knowledge in a real-world setting while exploring the fields of mechanical engineering and advanced manufacturing.

Gloria is gaining valuable real-world experience through our Thunderbird Career & Academic Internship Program! As a student in the Biotechnology Research and Health Science Pathway, Gloria is gaining firsthand experience in the Biostatistics Department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Throughout her internship, Gloria has explored how machine learning can be used to analyze patient blood cell data, helped identify and correct coding errors, and tested code using a variety of datasets. This hands-on experience has given Gloria a valuable opportunity to explore how data science and machine learning can support healthcare research and innovation.

Amolak is gaining valuable real-world experience through our Thunderbird Career & Academic Internship Program!As a student in the Business Administration Career Pathway, Amolak is interning with the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce (MRCC), where he is gaining hands-on experience in marketing, communication, and community engagement.

Throughout his internship, Amolak has created event flyers, updated social media platforms and websites with upcoming events, shared photos from past events, and connected with local organizations about participating in upcoming social and networking opportunities.

These experiences are helping Amolak strengthen his marketing and communication skills while gaining a deeper understanding of how businesses and organizations work together to build a strong, connected community.

Joshua is gaining valuable real-world experience through our Thunderbird Career & Academic Internship Program!As a student in the Government and Social Sciences Pathway, Joshua is interning at Brandon J. Broderick Law Firm in the Intake and Pre-Litigation Department, where he is getting a firsthand look at the legal profession.

Through his internship, Joshua has assisted with client intakes and doctor referrals, observed paralegals and case managers, and attended pre-litigation meetings. These experiences are giving him valuable insight into the many roles, responsibilities, and career opportunities within the legal field.

Dylan is gaining valuable real-world experience through our Thunderbird Career & Academic Internship Program! As a student in the Visual and Integrated Design Pathway, Dylan is interning at BlueLine Architecture, where he is exploring the world of architecture and design through hands-on learning experiences.
During his internship, Dylan has organized and filed architectural drawings, attended zoning board meetings, explored a residential remodeling project, and gained experience using 3D software utilized in residential design and construction. These opportunities are helping Dylan build technical skills, expand his understanding of the industry, and take meaningful steps toward his future career goals.

Admissions insight straight from the source! 🎓

Mahwah High School students recently had the opportunity to hear from Larry Alderman, Manager of East Coast Recruitment at Michigan State University. With experience reviewing more than 20,000 first-read applications and 50,000 second-read applications, Mr. Alderman shared valuable advice about what really matters in the college admissions process.

His biggest takeaway? “Every college admissions officer I’ve met has one thing in common—they’re looking for reasons to admit a student.”

Mr. Alderman highlighted three key ways students can strengthen their college applications:
✅ Show genuine interest. Use an email address you check regularly, open and respond thoughtfully to admissions emails, and register for campus visits whenever possible. Colleges often track student engagement, and authentic interest can make a meaningful difference.
✅ Be intentional. If you’re not willing to engage with a college before applying, it may not be the right fit.
✅ Finish strong. Senior year matters. Get off to a great start, continue working hard throughout the year, and remember that colleges are paying attention to your final year of high school.

As a student in the Business Administration Pathway, Ruchita is interning at Terrie O’Connor Realtors, where she is building valuable real-world skills in the real estate industry. During her internship, she has created virtual agent cards for NJMLS, organized buyer and seller packets, attended agent meetings alongside her mentor, and contributed thoughtful feedback during a fundraiser planning meeting.

Niranjan is a student in Mahwah High School’s Biotechnology Research & Health Science (STEAM) Career Pathway. Through a shadowing experience at Valley Dental Group in Ramsey, he gained firsthand insight into the healthcare field, learning about both patient care and the many responsibilities involved in the day-to-day operations of a dental practice.

Justin is participating in our Thunderbird Career & Academic Internship Program! As a student in the Business Administration Pathway, Justin is interning in the business office at Habitat for Humanity, where he is gaining valuable hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector.
Throughout his internship, Justin has created surveys and spreadsheets to support organizational initiatives and upcoming events, observed the grant-writing process, researched customer demographics, and delivered presentations highlighting the goals of the MHS Habitat for Humanity Club.
