We are proud to congratulate our very own Professor Davis, who will be honored at Circle of Strength Family’s 2026 Unity Ball on September 12th! 🎉

As Director of Practicum Education for Ramapo College’s Social Work Program, Professor Davis plays an important role in supporting and preparing future social workers through their practicum experiences. Her dedication extends beyond our program through her work supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We are proud to see her commitment and impact recognized with this honor!

The Social Work Program is incredibly proud of our BSW and MSW graduates and all they have accomplished this year. It was especially meaningful to celebrate Graduation Day together at the Prudential Center on May 13th, bringing students from both programs under one roof for this milestone occasion.

We are proud of every one of our graduates, who have already demonstrated their commitment to creating positive change in their communities. 👏🏼🎓🥳

BSW graduate Katelynn Haury was recognized for her outstanding academic achievement, receiving an AFT Graduate School Scholarship and planning to return to Ramapo College to pursue her MSW.

MSW graduate Jerry DiLauri has also made a lasting impact on the program and community through his work with the College’s ENHANCE program, his leadership as Vice President of the Phi Alpha Honor Society, and his inspiring journey as a disabled veteran.

Join us in celebrating Katelynn, Jerry, and all of our graduates as they begin the next chapter of their social work journeys!

Happy National SEL Day! ❤️✨

SEL stands for social and emotional learning, and it benefits people of all ages. When we build strong social and emotional skills, we function better mentally, socially, and academically.

It’s fitting that SEL Day takes place during Social Work Month. This year’s theme, ✨Uplift. Defend. Transform✨ highlights the meaningful work social workers do to support growth, resilience, and opportunity.

That’s why Ramapo’s Upward Bound Math Science program, which helps Paterson teens prepare for college, has intentionally integrated SEL into its curriculum. One of our very own MSW interns works with students to strengthen skills like setting goals, identifying and coping with difficult emotions, and communicating effectively.

By building these skills, students are gaining tools that uplift their well-being, defend their potential, and help transform their futures.

If you’d like to practice an SEL skill today, scroll to the second slide and pick the word that best matches your current mood. Naming how we feel is a powerful first step.

The BSW students in the Summer Social Work in Agencies and Communities class recently got a behind-the-scenes look at hunger relief in action during a visit to the Center for Food Action’s Mahwah Pantry. 🥫✨! The students explored how dignity and choice are reshaping food access and received powerful insights from the CFA's Executive Director Nicole Davis and hunger national relief leader Dr. Katie Martin. Grateful for this impactful partnership and hands-on learning experience!

💬🧠 Promoting wellness, one conversation at a time!

This past Mental Health Awareness Month, our BSW students turned their knowledge into action at the Ramapo College Wellness Fair by sharing vital resources and information to support mental health, self-care, and overall well-being. Love to see the passion and dedication our students have for the Social Work profession!
