The Creative Writing Program in the Salameno School of Humanities and Global Studies seeks to develop promising writers. Our program features small classes to further challenge and nurture students, creating a more fulfilling academic experience. This experience is not contained in just the classroom, but reache
s to the Ramapo College community through producing the literary magazine, The Trillium, and sponsoring the Readings at Ramapo Visiting Writers Series. For students who are majoring in Literature, a concentration in Creative Writing is available. This can be achieved by taking three Creative Writing courses and completing the Creative Writing Capstone. This can be achieved by taking Introduction to Creative Writing, an additional Creative Writing course and completing the Creative Writing Capstone. In addition, two Literature electives are required, one focused on poetry, and the other focused on prose. The following Creative Writing courses are in the college catalog:

- Fiction Writing Workshop
- Creative Writing Capstone
