Elect Michael Galow Board of Education

I am grateful for the support the voters of Mahwah gave to Trista, Ben and I. I am eager to get back to fulfilling my committment to Mahwah's voters to serve the whole school community to the best of my ability in the best interest of each student.

As I said throughout the campaign, Mahwah's schools have all the elements of excellence. We have a strategic plan to guide us, we have extraordinary teachers, staff and school leaders to do the work and we have a community dedicated to making Mahwah's schools better every year.

We are only limited by our apprehension about change. If we respectfully and constructively engage, listen and exchange our ideas and set aside personal agendas, we will find a way to create ever more effective, challenging and engaging learning experiences that benefit every child.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for having the privlege of serving our school community.

I exercised my most important civic responsibility this morning at Company 1 Firehouse (District 2 and 10 polling place).

If you have not voted by mail or voted during the early in person voting period, please get out to your polling place and VOTE by 8pm.

Many thanks to the Mahwah Schools Foundation team who organized today’s Thunderbird Run/Walk! It was a great morning for the community to support our schools and the work of the MSF.

For the first time you can vote early in-person from 10am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and on Sundays from 10am to 6pm

It takes more than just managing the numbers to achieve important goals. As a small business owner, I apply my entrepreneurial sense of problem solving and financial management to my decision making on the Mahwah Board of Education. It takes the ability to listen, change, and adapt so that all of the strengths of Mahwah’s school community work together to create challenging and engaging learning experiences for our children.
Here’s a small snapshot of what’s happening:
- Thunderbird Partnership Program connecting community members with students
- Pathways program at MHS helping students select classes in their area of interest
- STEAM building equipped with a robotics workshop, 3D printing lab, design space, and art exhibition gallery, and
- Strengthening our teaching capabilities with comprehensive professional development programs

I am extraordinarily proud of our district and the role I have played in bringing people, ideas and resources together to make Mahwah’s schools better every year – our journey is just beginning.
