Alumni Lounges, Ramapo College of New Jersey
(There is no remote option. Sessions will not be recorded.)

Instilling media literacy skills has become one of the most crucial and challenging tasks for teachers today, due to new technologies and the radical polarization of US politics and culture. This is not a new phenomenon. Joined by additional special guests, Drs. Bradley Hart and Angela West will present the history of American pro-Nazi propaganda and youth organizing in the years preceding the country’s entry into WWII—even our NJ counties. Dr. Satarupa Dasgupta will then shift our focus to the present, while remaining conscious of historical continuities, to discuss and learn how to equip students with robust media-literacy skills for navigating and participating fruitfully in our divided and hyper-mediated society.
Dr. Bradley Hart
National WWII Museum, author of Hitler’s American Friends
Dr. Angela West
Drew University’s Center for Holocaust/Genocide Study
Dr. Satarupa Dasgupta
Professor of Communication, Ramapo College
This program is free, with advanced registration, to all educators and administrators who are responsible for or hope to offer Holocaust and genocide education at their institutions.
Breakfast and lunch will be served. Coffee, tea, and water will be available throughout the day.
