For most families the first home run has such great meaning. It is the culmination of thousands of swings and years of preparation. This one of me just means a bit more. When Dawson was in preschool he had such a difficult time playing with his peers. It didn’t matter if it was baseball, football, soccer etc. It was always the same. He would try to start with tears in his eyes and after just a couple of minutes he would become overwhelmed and run off the field or court or mat in tears. The anxiety and adhd was just too much for him to handle. He would love playing with me in the yard but for some reason there was a disconnect between the backyard and the game itself. It was at that time that my wife came to me and said “you need to help him, it has to be you”. How could I say no. With my love of family, sports, coaching and teaching, Abled Athletes was born. After countless hours of work he is now one of the more confident players on the field. This time with him has lead to my coaching staff and I working with families all over New York and New Jersey. This is my life’s work. I love that I get to share it with my family, friends and strangers who have yet to become family.

🎯 Learning Through Play with Abled Athletes!

This week, Abled Athletes has been running an immersive, hands-on seven-day camp in partnership with the North Rockland Central School District at Fieldstone Middle School. Campers are running, throwing and scooting with guidance from our coaches, all while building skills, confidence and new friendships. 🏀⚽🥏🛴

At , our mission is simple: empower children of all ages and abilities through personalized, adaptive sports instruction in a supportive and inclusive environment. Each day’s routine is designed for every child to shine, try new activities and unlock their potential.🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

With encouragement from our coaches, campers stay active, engage, explore and grow their abilities every session. Sports aren’t just about technique — they’re about teamwork, discovery and realizing what you can do!

My nephew JJ Sullivan taking top honors again at the toughest wrestling tournament in America. I asked him if when I retire I could be the guy who carries around all of his belts. The nice guy that he is, he said yes😂

For the second straight October, 𝙅𝙅 𝙎𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙣 is headed back to his Section 9 home with an 11 & Under Super 32 Belt around his waist!!!

Engaged in an absolute deadlock where neither man could solve the other on the feet or the mat; it would be the future Monroe-Woodbury star earning an E1 with :15 to go in the UTB to emerge with the narrow 1-0 decision over 𝘽𝙤𝙖𝙯 𝘿𝙞𝙖z!!

Diaz is a multiple-time Roller Series WOW All-American to go along with Double 12U crowns at 2024 USA Kids FS/GR Nationals!!....He previously finished 3rd in 2022 at this event!

It was all a dream…….When AbledAthletes started 18 months ago. For someone who is pretty confident in just about everything I do, I was scared to death. But sometimes in life if you want great things, you have to put yourself out there to the world. Yesterday was one of the greatest days as a coach I can remember. My team and I started a 6 week Special Needs All-Sports on behalf of Paramus Recreation. 15+ families were in attendance and we had such a great afternoon.
