What a special day for our academy.

A huge congratulations to our new black belts, and . Earning a black belt is not simply receiving the next rank—it's the culmination of years of dedication, sacrifice, perseverance, and personal growth. It represents countless hours of training, overcoming setbacks, and staying committed to the journey when many others have stepped away. Very few people who begin martial arts reach this milestone, and Jay and Mikey have earned every bit of it through their hard work, character, and determination.

In addition, Coach was given his professor bars and first degree black belt by . Congrats Coach Chris you are the best in the business. You are truly appreciated by our school, our jiu-jitsu community and their families.

Congratulations as well to our new brown belts, , , and . Brown belt is a tremendous accomplishment and signifies that you have reached the highest levels of technical skill and understanding before black belt. It is a rank that carries responsibility and serves as the final major step on the path.

While we celebrate all five promotions, today we recognize the extraordinary achievement of Jay and Mikey. Their black belts symbolize not an ending, but the beginning of a new chapter as leaders, mentors, and examples for everyone who trains beside them.

Great work by everyone who attended the Grappling For Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics Seminar.

We covered real-world fundamentals under pressure:

• Escapes and recovery work from an officer’s back

• Positional control and movement

• Vehicle extraction scenarios outside in live environmental conditions

The effort, attitude, and intensity in the room were outstanding. Every officer came ready to work, learn, and sharpen skills that matter when it counts.
