As Quadvest approaches an important milestone in its nearly five-decade history, CEO Simon Sequeira reflects on the employees, accomplishments and lasting impact that have shaped our company.

“Quadvestians,
As we approach an important milestone in the history of Quadvest, I've spent a lot of time thinking about what this company has meant to me and, more importantly, about the people who made it what it is today.
Over the years, we have faced difficult markets, regulatory challenges, hurricanes, freezes, droughts, rapid growth, and plenty of moments when the easier choice would have been to slow down. But that's not who we are. We kept pushing.
Today, Quadvest is one of the most respected privately owned water and wastewater utilities in Texas. That didn't happen because of one person or one family. It happened because generations of employees came to work every day and took responsibility for serving our customers, building infrastructure, solving problems, and doing things the right way.
Many of you have been here for a significant part of your careers. Some of you joined us recently. Regardless of how long you've been here, you've contributed to this company's success, and I want you to know how much I appreciate it.
The upcoming sale of Quadvest represents the culmination of nearly five decades of work. It's something my family and I are incredibly proud of, but it's also bittersweet. You spend your life building a company like this, and when the moment finally arrives to turn the page, you realize that what you remember most isn't the transactions, the projects, or the numbers. It's the people.
I'm proud of what we've built, but I'm even more proud of how we built it. We stayed true to our values.
As we head toward closing, I want all of us to stay focused on the great things we have accomplished together over the years.
We—all of us—changed the development business in the greater Houston area.
We made deals happen that simply would not have been feasible without Quadvest's involvement. We found ways to bring water and wastewater infrastructure to developments that otherwise might never have been built. And the impact of that goes far beyond Quadvest.
Because of Quadvest, more communities were created, more homes were built, and more families were able to afford homes in places where those opportunities might not have existed without us. We all helped do that.
That is something we should all be incredibly proud of.
And people have noticed. More and more utilities are trying to emulate what Quadvest has built—not just what we do, but how we do it. The model we created, the way we work with developers, the way we solve problems, and the way we take responsibility from the beginning of a project to the end have changed expectations in our industry.
We didn't follow someone else's model. We built our own. And now others are following us.
As we get closer to closing, there is naturally going to be uncertainty about what comes next. But I'd ask everyone to stop all the drama and speculation about what your offer will look like, what happens with PTO, what benefits will be, or all the other ‘what ifs’ that inevitably come with a transition like this. Those things will get sorted out.
Spending our remaining time together worrying and fretting about things that may never happen only distracts us from everything we should be celebrating and all the fond memories we have created together. That is not the culture we built at Quadvest.
We shouldn't change that now.
I have always believed that character matters. And right now, our character is on display.
How we conduct ourselves during these final months will say as much about Quadvest as anything we have accomplished over the past five decades. Let's finish this chapter the same way we built this company—with professionalism, confidence, loyalty to one another, and pride in what we have accomplished together.
Thank you for taking care of our customers and each other.
What we built together matters. We changed an industry, we helped build communities, and we created something that will continue long after this transaction closes.
I will never forget that, and I hope none of you do either.
