Check out this grant update from Alex Jacobsen's class at Magnolia West High School! Through the Planting Seeds and Growing Skills grant, students receive hands-on work experience by growing their own plants to sell to the school community. ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿ…๐Ÿชด

"I am so grateful for the support we received from the MEF this year. My students ask me daily starting in first period when we are going to go outside and check on our plants. They are so proud of themselves, and so am I." - Ms. Jacobsen

๐Ÿ‘€ You'll want to read about this grant:

A group of staff members at Magnolia Jr. High received grant funding to enhance their morning soccer club. Entry into soccer club has only one requirement: no missing assignments in any class! The program has already shown improvement in student achievement and students with no missing assignments for at least six weeks received their jerseys last week! MJH Academic Coordinator Amanda Dunn, who was one of the grant writers, says "We are so thankful for the Coach Morris Grant through MEF! Our kids have already decided that we will wear our jerseys every Friday." โšฝ๏ธ

Help us celebrate our Substitute of the Month Candice Przywara! Ms. Przywara was nominated by Lyon Elementary Assistant Principal Andrea Harper who had this to say about her:

"Mrs. Przywara is ALL in for our LES students and staff! She jumps in and does whatever is needed to support our campus. We have had the opportunity to have her as a long-term sub with both our "bigs" (4th grade) and our "littles" (1st grade). While in first grade, she has also recruited parent volunteers to read with students! If she is not subbing, you will find her on campus - she might be in the school garden or in the workroom completing tasks to support our teachers. Candice is always positive, does whatever it takes to meet the needs of students, and is a valued member of our Lyon staff."

๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations!

We love our business partners! Don't forget to mention MEF when you're shopping at American Furniture Warehouse for new furniture! ๐Ÿช‘๐Ÿ›‹๐Ÿ›
