We had our first harvest in our HFHK gardens! What a fun experience. The students really enjoyed this experience! Can’t wait for fall crops to be planted! Here it is from start to finish!

💚🌎 Eco Team Door Decorating Contest Results Are In! 🌎💚

We may have had just two entries this time, but the creativity, effort, and heart behind both doors truly made an impact in our school! We are so proud of the classes who stepped up and brought our Eco Team vision to life.

🥈 2nd Place – Mrs. Leslie’s Class
“Small Hands Can Change the World”
This meaningful display was created using 100% recycled scrap paper and student handprint tracings, serving as a powerful reminder that even the smallest hands can make a big difference.

🥇 1st Place – Mrs. Carter’s Class
“Jackie & Shadow” Inspired Design
An incredibly detailed and thoughtful creation using recycled and natural materials, bringing both creativity and sustainability together in such a beautiful way.

We are so grateful to both classes for their time, effort, and willingness to participate—your work brought positivity, inspiration, and eco-awareness to our hallways!

Mrs. Carter’s class will enjoy a pizza party 🍕 and Mrs. Leslie’s class will celebrate with a popsicle 🍧party!

And an extra special shoutout & thank you goes to Mrs. Moran for giving our students the idea to sponsor this contest for the school. Your continued support is greatly appreciated! 💙💛

10 more days to find change in the couch (but always ask a parent first!) to bring Pennie’s & bills larger than $1 in for your class and the silver coins & $1 bills to sabotage the other classes in your grade! No change?! No worries, our online contribution option is now open too. All funds go to helping Eco Team get the outdoor classroom ready in time for spring and use!!!

Looks like Spring!! The first part of our school involvement has gotten started for our Healthy Food for Healthy Kids garden beds. Exciting!!

Yes, Eco team is still here!! We will be gathering pictures of what we’ve been up to and post them soon!
One thing that we are working on recycling are eyeglass. In conjunction with the Lions club, we are asking for old eyeglass that can be donated to those in need.
Please gather up any that you may have lying around in a drawer somewhere and send them in with your student. There is a collection box at the bottom of the main stairs or you can drop them at the office! Thanks so much for helping our school make a difference!

Last Saturday, we turned teamwork into something truly beautiful — our Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids school & community garden is officially taking root! 🌿🥕

We couldn’t have done it without the amazing volunteers who came out to help us set up, dig in, and make this vision come to life. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm will help our students learn, grow, and thrive — one seed at a time! 💙💛

Beds are covered for now until the Spring, when every class & grade will start contributing time and work to bring the garden to life! Stay tuned…
