Last week, some of our amazingly dedicated atrium crew worked hard in the heat to complete the installation of our new gardening beds! These beds will act as an expansion to the DPES Prairie Pantry, with the goal of providing fresh seasonal produce to families in the area. The 4th grade Ambassadors will be leading the progression of the garden, and we hope to have participation throughout all the grades on campus. 🥬🥕
Plants For All Seasons graciously delivered the beds and dirt, while dirtydirtsoilcompany very generously donated their brand-new “raised bed” soil mix for the beds. This rich, nutritious soil is available at Plants For All Seasons if you’d like to start your own raised-bed garden, and the knowledgeable staff at the gardening center will be able to help determine what you should plant.
👩🌾 Our school is so fortunate to have the absolute best volunteers to make this happen, and we are looking forward to sharing the progress of this special project throughout the year! 🐾❤️
