A makerspace is similar to a fitness center, but instead of building muscles, the members of the makerspace build things, all kinds of things. Members have access to professional grade tools and machines. There is a woodworking shop with Table Saw, Band Saw, Planer, Jointer, Scroll Saw, Sanders, Wood Lathe, and assorted other hand and power tools. There is a Welding Shop, Machine Shop, and upstai
rs a Crafts and Technology Center. Here you will find Professional Laser Cutter/Engravers, 3D Printers, Vinyl Cutter, Die Cutter, Picture Framing Equipment, an other arts and crafts equipment. The Technology Center has a well-equipped Electronics Laboratory and plenty of bench space for projects in robotics and micro-controllers such as the Arduino processors. Come design it, build it, or fix it. The MakerBarn is perfect for the experienced inventor or craftsman, but it is also the place to learn about designing and building. We welcome those who would like to use the facility to teach, and those who want to learn. The MakerBarn is located just off FM 2978, 2.0 miles south of Woodlands Parkway.
