🎉 MEET OUR NEW CARDINAL Mrs. Carmie Johnson, our new 3rd Grade Teacher! 🍎📚

Carmie grew up in Flint, Michigan, and joins Sandy Valley after teaching at Tusky Valley. She earned her undergraduate degree from Spring Arbor University in Michigan and her master’s degree through WGU.

For Carmie, the best part of teaching is building relationships with her students and having plenty of creative outlets along the way! ❤️

Carmie is also a proud mom to two daughters, Natallie, a junior at Tusky Valley, and Emme, a 6th grader here at Sandy Valley. She and her husband, Kyle, also have a dog named Penelope Waffles and two cats, Jack and Barley. 🐶🐱🐱

When she’s not in the classroom, you might find Carmie:
😴 Taking a nap
🎧 Listening to audiobooks
🏖️ Enjoying the beach
⚽ Cheering on her favorite soccer team - her kids!

And speaking of favorite teams, Carmie has an important question for us: Does Ted Lasso count? Because she’s all about BELIEVE! Go Richmond! ⚽

A few more of Carmie’s favorites:
🍜 Food: Thai
🎬 Movies: Anything with Melissa McCarthy
🎵 Artist: Ben Rector (“my spirit animal!”)
🦦 Favorite animal: Sea otters!

🌟 Carmie says her proudest accomplishments are her girls and starting her second career as a teacher. Her motto is one that perfectly captures her determination: “They said she COULDN’T, so she did!”

And her best advice? “Everybody is going through something be gracious.”

Something you might not know about Carmie? She’s the youngest of five kids! 🙌

❤️ But perhaps the best part of her introduction is what she says about Sandy Valley: “This family and how fiercely they will protect you when you’re in their flock.” ❤️

Carmie says there are no words for how grateful she is to be home here at SVE, and we’re so grateful to have her!

Please help us give Carmie a big CARDINAL WELCOME!
