👩‍🍳 Learning in the Kitchen! Our Sandy Valley Kitchen staff had a great opportunity to work alongside a USDA Chef and sharpen their skills to start the new school year! 🥕

The training included:
🔪 Knife handling and food-preparation techniques
🥬 Working with fresh produce, including cilantro, pineapples, and cantaloupes
🌱 Learning about the benefits of using Ohio-grown produce, meats and cheeses in our school lunch program
⏱️ Reviewing kitchen guidelines including time and temperature standards and proper food-handling practices

Using local products not only benefits our students by providing fresh, quality foods, but also supports Ohio farmers and strengthens our local communities and many of the vegetables used were from the SV raised garden beds!

We appreciate our kitchen staff for continuing to learn, grow and find new ways to provide nutritious and delicious meals for our Sandy Valley students! 🍎

🎉📚 BACK TO SCHOOL BASH IS TOMORROW! 📚🎉

Tomorrow is going to be a BIG day at Sandy Valley! ❤️🩶 Join us for our Back to School Bash from 3:30–7 p.m. as we get ready to kick off the 2026–2027 school year!

Here’s what’s happening:
🏫 Elementary: Students can drop off their school supplies in their classrooms and meet their teachers!
📚 Middle & High School: Students can pick up their lockers, schedules and more as they get ready for the new school year!
👋 School & Community Groups: Be sure to stop by the SVMS/SVHS to visit the many school and community group tables!

🎒 FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Need a few extra supplies? We’ll have FREE school supplies available! 🎒

📣 Meetings:
• 4 p.m. — Title I/IDEA Meeting — Administrative Building
• 6 p.m. — 6th Grade Family Meeting — Performing Arts Hall
• 6:30 p.m. — 9th Grade Family Meeting — Performing Arts Hall

🏈 Football Scrimmage: There’s also a home football scrimmage tomorrow! Come out and support our Cardinals!

There’s a LOT happening at SV tomorrow, and we can’t wait to see our students, families and community! ❤️🩶

🎉📚 August is here and the Sandy Valley Back to School Bash is just a few weeks away on Thursday, August 13, from 3:30–7 p.m. 🎉📚

Families are invited to kick off the new school year with fun, community, and Cardinal spirit! There is a 6th grade family meeting at 6 p.m., followed by 9th grade family meeting at 6:30 p.m. The evening wraps up with a home football scrimmage at 7 p.m. as the Cardinals take on Tuslaw! 🏈❤️
