So much joy and liberation. I was reminded to keep BEing!!! Finished my first year teaching! Research and writing this summer. What a great Faculty of Color Retreat!!!! Continue to LOVE with patience and understanding. I LOVE who I AM!!!

"So grateful to be recognized as a member capable of doing scholarly work. This grant made me cry, I felt incapable. I am so grateful for my First grant as the "boss" or Principal Investigator! There is o much more to come!

The best part of my world! Every first week of class ai have scholars write down as many words as they can when they hear “inclusion” and “community”. We then use those words to formulate a definition of what inclusive community in our time together. I am always amazed forever grateful to be a chemistry professor! I do it for them! I am fufilled!!

Make your work count in all that you do!!! There is a light in you!!

We are coming hard this semester! My fingers are tired from all the writing and my brain is swamped with all the emotions; I will not trade this dream for the world. Did I mention I am the only black full time faculty member in the department. I have to show up, it is a lot of pressure, but I will get through it. I love my Scholars 7 and counting!
