D'addario is the biggest U.S. string manufacturer. They have always been innovative and a great company to do business with. They support small music stores and have great customer service. Many of their products are made in America and they strive to keep it that way as much as possible. One of their products, ProMark drumsticks are made locally in Houston, TX Great people, great product. RIP Janet D'addario.

It was a year ago that Covid-19 changed the world as we know it. If you lost a loved one to this virus that is, of course, the biggest casualty and this post does not in any way discount that fact. But there were many other casualties not to mention thousands of people losing their jobs, businesses and freedom to move about and interact with each other. If you don't read any further please know that we appreciate each and every one of our customers and we do not take for granted the fact that we came out on the other side (not unscathed) because of you. Thank you and here's to a better year ahead. -Arbor Music

[02/22/21]   Good Morning, it’s Monday February 22, and we will be open for business. We are looking forward to getting back to work and seeing everyone all thawed out.

[02/18/21]   We have some leaks in our building so we will have to be closed until our maintenance guy can get out here and fix them. He will come on Sunday so we will be back open on Monday 2/22. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please contact your teacher for lesson info. They will be doing Zoom lessons.

[02/17/21]   Due to rolling power outages and road conditions we will be closed again today, Wednesday 2/17. If you have a lesson today your teacher will be contacting you to either do a zoom lesson or a makeup lesson after this cold snap passes through. Stay warm and safe and see you soon.

[02/16/21]   Arbormusic will be closed on Tuesday February 16 due to potentially hazardous road conditions. Stay safe and enjoy the coldest week of winter in the history of Magnolia. I just made that last part up, but this is unusually cold and snowy weather for Houston.

Tony Rice, A Giant Of The Acoustic Guitar, Dead At 69

This great guitarist died on Christmas Day. He was mostly known as a bluegrass player but he played acoustic jazz as well.

npr.org Tony Rice first gained attention as a member of J.D. Crowe's boundary-pushing New South. Rice took it even further in the David Grisman Quintet. But the road took a toll on Rice.
