We were visited by a K-9 unit from Harris County Sherriff's Department. Kris and his handler Deputy Cody came to teach all about their jobs and demonstrate their skill.
Kris is so fast and did an amazing job finding the hidden item planted by his handler.
We were joined by Growing Heroes Preschool and together our students got to try on some the gear and equipment.
At the end our MS and HS kids got to hear some detailed stories about K-9 work. It was a fantastic event!

As part of our Career Navigation program we were visiting by a retired ATF agent, Jesse Chester. He shared his stories, pictures, news articles, and challenge coins from years of service. He even worked for President Ronald Reagan at one point! We learned what a day in the life of an ATF agent looks like, as well as what it takes to become one. Our students loved it!
Career Navigation is a program that connects our middle and high school students with professionals in various industries and fields. The goal is to expose our students to a wide variety of careers that helps to inform their pathway beyond high school.

Did you know we offer a half-day kindergarten option? At Traditions, Monday-Thursdays from 8:30-12:30, students will receive literacy & math instruction from experienced teachers (lunch & recess are included). Want to know more? Let's talk curriculum!

For literacy, "Logic of English Foundations" is our top choice! Here is what we love about it: it teaches the mechanics of how and why words are formed through phonograms. It also emphasizes handwriting, reading, & reading comprehension. We have had great success with this curriculum, even for struggling readers. Is your child already a reader? No worries there, we will meet them where they are!

Math can be a tougher subject for many, so we use RightStart Mathematics. This curriculum offers multi-sensory learning approaches which can be crucial at this stage. What makes this instruction unique is that it is taught using an AL Abacus. With this technique of teaching, children can then visualize numbers rather than counting. Quickly, they begin to learn to spot groups of five and think in terms of "five plus. Got a little mathematician? Our small group approach allows us to place our students together at "levels" so every student is either challenged or gets the extra attention needed.

Alongside these two courses of study, we include game based learning to re-enforce the lessons that have been taught.

Our kindergarten fills up fast so schedule a tour TODAY!
