Education that is detached from virtue and Truth arms pride. It may sharpen intellect, but without a moral compass, it only increases our capacity to distort what is good. When knowledge is not rooted in the fear of the Lord, it becomes self-serving. Our motive for obtaining knowledge and pursuing education should be rooted deeply in our love for Christ and proper fear of Him. It must begin with God, be sustained by God, and lead back to God—or it misses its purpose entirely.
“For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor? Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.”
Romans 11:34-36
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 1:7 ESV

As we journey through this sacred week, we are reminded of the unmatched humility of Christ. From His triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to His final breath on the cross, Jesus revealed what true love and servanthood look like.
In a world that chases power and status, Christ—the *All-Powerful*—chose to humble Himself and bear the weight of our sin. The King of all creation came not to be served, but to serve—even to the point of giving His life for us. Not a single one of us deserves a relationship with God, and yet Christ made a way. For all who put their faith in Him, He offers life eternal with Him.
May we take time to reflect on the strength found in Christ’s humility. May we seek to reflect Him as He refines us. And may we not grieve the conviction of the Holy Spirit, but rejoice when He reveals our sin—so that we may repent, turn to Jesus, and hold fast to true faith in Christ, knowing He paid it all… and all to Him we owe.

“For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Peter 1:5-8 ESV

One of the most rewarding aspects of a smaller classroom setting is how it fosters meaningful and deep relationships. As students engage with one another in truth, wisdom, and virtue, they challenge and inspire each other to grow in their faith and knowledge of God. This intentional community reflects the truth of Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” It is within these deep, purposeful connections that beautiful friendships are formed, enriching both the individual and the group as a whole.
We love our community and are so thankful for each one of our LCA families! 🦁💙

“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.”
Proverbs 4:23-27 ESV

At Libertas, we cultivate curiosity and wonder, inviting students to see God’s hand in every detail of His creation. Whether in the smallest cell or the vastness of the stars, there is true, good, and beauty to discover.
In every classroom, during lunch, recess, and chapel, we nurture the hearts of the students to marvel at creation, for they reflect the image of our Creator.
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands." – Psalm 19:1
