The White Buffaloes competed their hearts 💙 out at the State Track & Field Championships. Through the highs and the lows in sport, we are incredibly proud of how the 2026 came to an end 🥹 . MHS had 6 podium finishes which we are very proud of 🙌🏻.

Logan Hayre 4th in Discus 💥
Brock Etter 6th in Discus 💥
Marlee Simmelink 6th in 100 and 200 💥💥
Girls 4 x 100 meters were 6th 💥

The seniors who made it to the State Championships got to do a victory lap around the historic Hayward Field. We are so proud of these guys and grateful for how they have represented MHS 🔥🔥🔥.

Here is a list of our 17 athletes who qualified to state and are representing MHS at Hayward Field this Thursday-Saturday ☝🏻.

Females: Arema White, Yaretzi Arriaga, Callie Delamarter, Mya Hollis, Miriam Egoavil, Anna Turo, Ana Boyle, and Marlee Simmelink.

Males: Gavin Williams, Luke Fessler, Brock Etter, Diego Sedano, Redsky Waheneka, Kiellan Allen, Chris Gutierrez, and Alex Agular.

We will also be taking 5 alternates for the relays (assuming they are able to take the spot), here is the list: Deklyn Parton, EJ Adams, Ashlyn Wolfe, Hope Wright and Talisa McGill

What a historic season its been, its taken a few days to sink in 🤯. The lady buffaloes won the team district title for the first time since 1983 😮. Way to represent Madras High School ‼️. You are inspiring the next generation, and we cant wait to keep celebrating your incredible accomplishments 🙌🏻 .

Congratulations to Marlee Simmelink for winning Girls Most Valuable Player for the Running Events. Marlee was on fire 🔥 and got personal bests in the 100, 200, and 4 x 400 relay. She also took 2nd in the 4 x 100 relay with another personal best 😤. She scored 16 points solo, and another 14 in relays. We are really proud of you Marlee 😍.

We are going to continue celebrating the amazing performances the White Buffaloes had at the Tri-Valley Conference Championships! Our boys 4 x 400 team was ranked 3rd and managed to pull off an upset and secure a spot to Hayward Field with 2nd place 🔥.

Athletes Alex Aguilar, Chris Gutierrez, and Keillan Allen hadn't yet qualified for state. And together with Redsky Waheneka they brought their A game after two full days of competition and ran an 11 second PR to punch their ticket 💥💥💥💥. It was beautiful race to watch. We are still so hyped from watching them 😮.

We will get to take two alternates to state because of their effort. Let's go boys 👊.

Day two ✌ of the Tri-Valley District Championships was incredible🔥, and it included a lot more State Qualifiers for the White Buffaloes.

Congratulations to the new state qualifiers: Diego Sedano, Arema White, Yaretzia Arriaga Maldonado, Alex Aguilar, Chris Gutierrez, Kiellan Allen, Miriam Egoavil, Mya Hollis, Anna Boyle, and Marlee Simmelink 💥💥💥.

We also had some of our athletes (both day 1 and 2) qualify for multiple events. With a few of them going to state in 4 events 😮.

Huge Congratulations to the girls track team for winning the Tri-Valley Championships 🔥. They have been on fire all season and qualified both relays to state. What an incredible season, with one last big stop left, 🏁 Hayward Field 💥.
