September MVP’s ⭐️

Memphis Bishop 🏆(Sweetwater Elementary)- I’m so proud of Memphis!! He’s never played sports before, & one day decided he wanted to run cross country, so we went to work!! He’s doing so well improving his movement & body control. He’s even cut more than 2 mins off his mile time so far! I can also see a little competitiveness coming out of him which wasn’t there in the beginning! It tells me he’s believing himself & I love it!

Alley & Olivia Williams 🏆 (Sequoyah High School & Vonore Middle)

These 2 are great! They’ve been working hard all summer sometimes coming straight from practice or school workouts! They’re both quiet & even though their faces sometimes say they think I’m trying to kill them (I promise I’m not 😅) they NEVER complain! They work hard & always give me their best effort & that’s all I can ask for!

Proud of these kids! 💪

ALL-DISTRICT OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!!🏆

I don’t know if I’ve ever been more excited for someone!!!!! This kid right here?!?! EARNS everything she gets!! This was no accident….it wasn’t luck… she didn’t trip & fall here. This is YEARS of consistency paying off… I tell all my athletes you have to be willing to work CONSISTENTLY over a long period of time… That’s where most people fail because it never happens as fast as you want it to… Ella’s been one of my most consistent kids over the past 4-5 years! She’s trained almost every single week since 7th grade! 3-4 times a week during the summer & still finds a way to come twice a week most weeks during her season!

This is a kid who did NOT make her middle school volleyball team as a 7th grader, but stayed on as the manager just to get practice reps! Now as a Junior she’s offensive player of the year!!!🤯

My favorite thing about Ella is she eliminates all your excuses! She wasn’t the best athlete. She didn’t possess any freakish athletic ability that separated her from everyone else… The biggest advantage she has over anyone else is she’s been willing to OUTWORK 99% of her competition!!! She’s put countless hours in the gym getting bigger, stronger & faster. Individual vball lessons outside of that developing her skills; so to me this was inevitable!!😤💪💪

Ella Edmonds I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!💪💪

August MVP’s⭐️

Dane Abernathy🏆-( Pecan Patch Play school )

Leahna Staples🏆 - (Madisonville Middle school)

Extremely proud of these 2 new kids!!

Dane’s been training a couple months now! He brings great energy & attitude to every session! We’ve been focusing on his balance, body control, & coordination! I love his progress & how we’ve been able to build & advance the drills from the previous week! Dane’s been Scoring Td’s & pulling flags for the Sweetwater super crickets!🙌

I’m particularly proud of Leahna!! She stepped out of her comfort zone & has been training with little sports background. I could tell she was uncomfortable & nervous the first couple sessions but she’s stuck with it, challenged herself & she’s coming along great! I’m most proud of the way her confidence is growing!🙌she works hard, pushes herself, & is less worried about messing up! I’m very excited for her!

Great job kiddos!!💪💪

MONROE COUNTY STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Presented by Zeke Massengill, REALTOR®
Edmonds Realty & Auction Group

Congratulations to Finlee Lyons, our Monroe County Student Athlete of the Week!

For Finlee, volleyball isn’t just a sport — it’s a lifestyle. If she isn’t playing for her school, she’s playing club volleyball, attending camps, or putting in the work to pursue her dream of playing at the next level.

But what really stood out this week wasn’t just her ability on the court.

Her coach described Finlee as “the rock” of the team — the player her teammates look to when things get tough. She’s a captain who leads by example, whether she’s making a play, encouraging a teammate, or simply staying after to help take down the net without ever being asked.

And she backed that leadership up with an incredible week:

🏐 30 serves attempted
🔥 4 aces
🎯 0 serving errors
💥 8 attacks / 8 kills
🧱 3 blocks
🤝 11 assists

But one of the things that impressed us most happened off the court.

Finlee, who is naturally very shy, stepped completely outside of her comfort zone and volunteered to lead a Bible study. Even though she was visibly nervous, she stood in front of her peers and followed through — leading with grace, courage, and dignity.

That’s what being a Student Athlete is about.

It’s not only what you do when the scoreboard is on. It’s your character, leadership, work ethic, and the example you set when nobody is keeping stats.

Congratulations, Finlee! You’ve earned it! 🏆🏐
