Since 1998, the University of Louisville School of Medicine has had an Off-Campus Teaching Center at Baptist Health in Madisonville, Kentucky.
The idea that began as the Off Campus Teaching Center (changed to the U of L Trover Campus ULTC in 2004), was developed to provide first-class, invidualized clinical training in an environment that allows students to experience the good life in a small town with fewer drawn to the big cities that may have too many doctors. Congratulations to three of our Juniors for being accepted into the UofL High School Rural Scholars Program!
High School Rural Scholars program provides an early opportunity for rising seniors and from a rural area with an interest in health careers to gain exposure to health professions.
HSRS divide their time between shadowing at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville and functional human anatomy tutorials at the UofL SOM Trover Campus. They meet with current ULTC medical students to gain understanding of the life of a medical student.
Riley, Nya Jade, and Josie are excellent students and we know they will represent us well!!

This Sunday, July 27, we'll proudly welcome our incoming class of medical students at the annual White Coat Ceremony—a meaningful milestone that marks the beginning of their journey into the medical profession.
As these students don their white coats for the first time, they take their first steps toward a lifelong commitment to compassionate care, scientific discovery and service.
