We LOVE when Class 101 student Olivia stops by with samples from her amazing business, O’s Freeze Dried Fun!

Today’s favorites were definitely the freeze dried Nerd Clusters and Airheads. They were absolutely delicious! But even more impressive than the treats is watching Olivia continue to build something of her own.

We couldn’t be more proud of Olivia’s dedication, creativity, and innovation. Entrepreneurship isn’t always easy, but Olivia takes on every challenge, learns from each experience, and handles every obstacle like a true pro.

Watching our students turn their passions into opportunities is one of the best parts of what we do. Keep dreaming big, Olivia! We can’t wait to see where O’s Freeze Dried Fun goes next!

Meet your Lewis Launch Leader Laynie Rich! She joined the Lewis Honors College (LHC) to hold herself to a higher standard throughout her college career. Through her experiences at the LHC, she has become a more creative and critical thinker in her studies and feels that the Honors values have helped shape her into a more well-rounded individual.

As a Lewis Launch Leader, Laynie hopes to help new Honors students find the same sense of community that she has experienced through the LHC. She strives to exemplify the LHC's values and encourage prospective students to join the community. One of her favorite memories was studying abroad in Scotland alongside fellow Honors students and faculty, an experience that combined learning, travel, and friendship.

Outside of school, Laynie enjoys spending time outdoors, whether that means riding horses on the trails around Lexington or exploring the city. Finally, her advice to incoming students is to take every opportunity possible! You never know which experience might change your life, help you grow, or open doors you never expected.

Some days remind us just how valuable a campus visit can be, and today was one of those days! We spent the day exploring two outstanding universities and came away with so much new information, insight, and excitement for the future.

Our first stop was the University of Evansville, where we had the opportunity to meet with the Career Center for an engaging session focused on better understanding ourselves, identifying potential majors, and exploring future career paths. We also learned more about UE’s designation as a Changemaker Campus and the many ways students are encouraged to create meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. One of the highlights was hearing about the incredible opportunities available through Harlaxton College, UE’s renowned study abroad program in England that gives students the chance to gain a truly global educational experience.

We then headed to the University of Southern Indiana, where we learned more about the university’s exciting transition to Division I athletics and the opportunities that come with competing on a national stage. We also got a glimpse of the impressive renovations taking place within the College of Nursing and Health Professions, along with learning more about USI’s growing academic programs, student resources, and campus community.

From career exploration and global learning opportunities to Division I athletics and cutting-edge facilities, today was packed with valuable information and meaningful conversations. We had the best time exploring both campuses and are grateful for the warm welcomes, knowledgeable staff, and all the insights shared throughout the day. Days like today help students move one step closer to finding the college that feels like home!

Today we had the opportunity to meet with some of our future E’s who will soon be heading off to the Kentucky Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs. We had such a great time talking about their upcoming adventure, sharing advice, discussing expectations, and helping them prepare for an experience they will never forget.

A special thank you to Bella, Olivia, and Taylor for joining us and generously sharing your experiences as GSE alumni. Your insight, encouragement, and willingness to answer questions gave these students a valuable glimpse into what awaits them over the next few weeks.

We can’t wait to watch this incredible group embrace every opportunity, challenge themselves, and make the most of their GSE journey. The adventure is just beginning!

❤️There are some days you wish you could bottle up and keep forever, and today was one of those days.

The weather was beautiful and it truly couldn’t have been a more perfect day for Lucy’s graduation party. Seeing so many smiling faces gathered together to celebrate Lucy made the day even more special, and it was a wonderful reminder of the impact she has made on so many people.

Lucy’s success is the result of years of hard work, dedication, and determination. During application season, she earned acceptances to all 8 colleges she applied to and secured an impressive $565,900 in scholarships. Her outstanding resume, thoughtful applications, and exceptional essays also earned her interviews for three Presidential scholarship programs. Along the way, she was selected as a recipient of both the Leo Wi******er Scholarship and the TD Achieve the Dream Scholarship.

While we are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished, what makes us most excited is the person she has become. We cannot wait to watch her continue chasing her dreams at Transylvania University, where she will further her education and continue her golf career.

Congratulations, Lucy. We are so proud of you, so thankful for you, and so excited to watch you make your mark on the world.

🎓It was the perfect day to celebrate Kamryn and all she has accomplished!

Watching her throughout application season has been such a joy. She approached every step with determination, patience, and a willingness to trust the process. Seeing her discover the college that feels like the perfect fit for her made all of the hard work worth it.

Kamryn's success didn't happen overnight. It is the result of years of dedication in the classroom, in her community, and through her leadership as Student President at Henderson Community College. As a multi-sport athlete, she has balanced the demands of academics, athletics, and leadership with remarkable determination, consistently finding ways to excel in every area of her life.

This season, her hard work was recognized through her selection as a recipient of the Henderson Girls Softball Association Scholarship and the Doug and Ollie Calhoun Scholarship, well-deserved honors that reflect her commitment, character, and perseverance.
Kamryn, we are so proud of all you have accomplished and the impact you have already made.

We can't wait to watch you begin this exciting new chapter at Bellarmine University. Your future is bright, and we know this next season is going to be an incredible one!

We are beyond excited to celebrate Evelyn being selected as a 2026 recipient of the Class 101 Scholarship!

Since 2017, the 101 Scholars Program has awarded scholarships to students across the country who demonstrate excellence in community involvement, leadership, and academic achievement. This year, just four students were selected nationwide to receive this prestigious $3,000 scholarship, making this recognition even more special.

If you've had the opportunity to know Evelyn, this honor comes as no surprise.

Her dedication in the classroom is exceptional, but what truly makes Evelyn stand out is her commitment to serving others and creating opportunities for those around her. Through her vision and leadership, she created Team Up for Kids, a vendor fair focused on helping local students gain access to youth sports opportunities through the YMCA. By partnering with local entrepreneurs and community members, Evelyn transformed an idea into an event that connected 21 students with scholarships to participate in sports programs. Twenty-one young people were given the opportunity to play, learn, grow, and be part of a team because Evelyn chose to take action.

What makes Evelyn so remarkable is her ability to see a need and then bring people together to make a meaningful difference. She leads with compassion, serves with purpose, and consistently looks for ways to positively impact those around her.

Evelyn, we could not be more proud of you. This scholarship recognizes exactly who you are, a dedicated student, an inspiring leader, and someone who is already making a lasting impact on her community. This honor is incredibly well deserved, and we are so excited to see all the amazing things you will continue to accomplish.

Much like Judge David Massamore, whose commitment to service, leadership, and community has left a lasting impact on Hopkins County, this award honors individuals who lead by example and inspire others through their actions.

Micah Morgan has distinguished himself through his perseverance, character, and dedication to achieving his goals. As he reaches this important milestone, he represents the next generation of leaders who understand that success is not simply measured by personal accomplishments, but by the positive influence they have on those around them. His determination, work ethic, and commitment to his future embody the spirit of a true trailblazer.
