💜 THE PURPLE TEAM 💜

Mrs. Lauren + Mrs. Caryssa

If you’ve been around Mira for any amount of time, you probably know Mrs. Lauren.

She’s been with us since early 2022 and has had just about every role you can possibly have in this school. She has learned, grown, stepped up, filled gaps, taken on challenges, and become one of those people who just gets Mira.

And recently, she finally got the piece of paper for something she’s already been excelling at for years: Mrs. Lauren is officially Montessori certified. 🥹

She has put SO much time into learning this philosophy, understanding the materials, observing children, and becoming the kind of Montessori guide I am incredibly proud to have leading a classroom.

And then there’s Mrs. Caryssa… or because R’s can be really tough around here 🙃… Mrs. C. 💜

Before she ever worked here, I watched her parent her son. And I remember thinking, she would be so good at this. There was something about the way she spoke to him, respected him, held boundaries, and genuinely enjoyed who he was that made me know she had something you can’t really teach.

So when the opportunity came to bring her onto our team, I already had a pretty good feeling about her. She’s already become a positive part of the team.

📣 HEY, POTENTIAL MIRA FAMS! 📣

A little schedule shuffling among some of our current families has opened up a spot in our full-day program! 💚

One thing that’s a little different about enrollment at Mira: we’re pretty intentional about how we build our classrooms. Because we’re a mixed-age Montessori school, we look at the balance of 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds, as well as the balance of boys and girls, when filling available spaces. We want each classroom community to have the right mix—not just fill an empty seat.

A few important things to know:

✨ Children must be at least 3 years old
✨ Children must meet Mira’s version of potty trained (all the details are explained in our handbook!)
✨ This opening is for our full-day program
✨ Current tuition rates and additional program information are available on our website

We are in need a handyman to keep on call throughout the school year!

Someone we can share a note with digitally for all of the random things that need to be fixed at the school. This person needs to be available in the evenings or on the weekends to come in and get it done.

Typically 1-4 hours per month would be the average. Tag your people that have this kind of availability.

Mrs. Mary + Ms. Ava 🧡

Mrs. Mary comes to Mira with loads of knowledge about children and child development. She understands kids—the why behind behaviors, what they need from the adults around them, and just how important these early years really are.

Mrs. Mary are SO excited to watch all of that knowledge come together with the Montessori way this year.

And then there’s Ms. Ava. She’s already winning over so many of the Mira babes 🧡

She’s learning, asking questions, jumping in, and figuring out exactly where she fits into this little Orange community.

If you’ve ever wondered how a school full of little people and a whole lot of moving parts actually keeps moving…

Let me introduce you to Mrs. B 🐝 and Ms. Gracie. 🫶🏽

These ladies go where they’re needed throughout the day. They help classrooms stay in ratio, cover bathroom and lunch breaks, help with transitions, step in when a classroom needs extra support, help keep shared spaces running smoothly, they wipe faces and messes, and handle about a million of those little things that have to happen every day for everyone else to be able to do their jobs.

They know ALL of the Mira kids, which also means they’re another familiar face our children can trust no matter where they are in the building.

These women see someone needs help and jump in, and they’re usually already headed toward the problem before anyone has to ask. 😂

They may not belong to one classroom, but that’s because the whole school is their classroom.

This team. 🩷

We come from different walks of life.

We have different backgrounds, different experiences, different beliefs, different opinions, and different ways of seeing the world.

And guess what? We don’t need to agree on everything to be a really good team.

What we do agree on is the responsibility we have when we walk through these doors, and that is something we take very seriously.

Our job is to give them opportunities to learn, wonder, explore, and eventually become people capable of thinking for themselves. Montessori introduces children to a world much bigger than their own little corner of it. They learn about different countries, cultures, traditions, languages, families, people, environments, and ways of life.

The goal is to help them develop an understanding that the world is full of people who may live, think, celebrate, believe, and experience life differently than they do, and all of those people are worthy of dignity and respect.

We teach peace. We teach grace and courtesy. We teach children how to disagree respectfully, how to listen, how to ask questions, and how to be curious about differences rather than afraid of them.

And maybe that’s part of why our team works. We don’t have to be the same to stand together. We lean on each other in the hard moments, and learn from each other every day. We’re grounded enough in who we are individually that we can make room for who everyone else is, too.

…And that’s exactly what we want our children to learn from us.

Everyone is different. And everyone belongs. 🫶🏽

The ones giving a lesson on one side of the room while simultaneously noticing someone across the room definitely should NOT be doing whatever they’re doing. 😏

In a Montessori classroom, our assistants are so much more than “helpers.”

They observe. They redirect. They model. They reinforce lessons. They notice who needs a little extra support and who is ready for a little more independence. They work alongside our lead teachers to make sure every child is seen, known, and continuing to grow.

Some of you may not know them yet, but very soon your child will be coming home and saying their names everyday. 🥲😭

It’s the night before the first day of the 2026–2027 school year, and I’ve really been searching for what I want our goal and intention to be for Mira this year.

The word that keeps coming to mind is grounded.

Last school year, we were stretched and pulled more than I thought was possible at times.

When I think back to the beginning of the year, almost immediately having to change the name of our school, and then what felt like punch after punch as so many of our people faced hardships and personal challenges, it’s hard to believe everything that happened in such a short amount of time.

And now… here we are.

Heads held high. Shoulders back. Fully standing in everything Mira Montessori has become.

We aren’t in the beginning anymore. We aren’t trying to figure out who we are. We’ve been through the growing pains, learned some really hard lessons, changed what needed to change, and kept going.

Our team has hard days. We reflect. We learn. We get back up and come back ready to try again tomorrow.

Our students are getting an incredible education. They’re learning some really cool things, but more importantly, they’re learning how to become kind, capable, independent little humans. So much of what Mira Montessori has become is more than I ever could have fathomed when this all began.

So, 2026–2027… let’s do this. 🫶🏽

Grounded, yet still growing, but this time, from solid ground.
