No one showed up. But I walked anyway (1.6 miles). Beautiful morning! I’ll be out of town next Saturday, 3/21, but will try again, hopefully on 3/28. It’s my daughter’s baby shower that day & my other daughter’s flying in from FL. I’ll let you know if the 28th is a go. Have a great week! Get out & get moving. 🚶‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Saturday Shuffle, 730am, March 14, Lake Madison Park’s playground in the back of the park.

Good morning ladies! I’m wanting to start our first Saturday Shuffle (walk/run) this weekend, March 14, 2026.

*** Location - Lake Madison Park - meet up at the playground tables at the back of the park

*** Time - 7:30 am (sharp), will start shuffle no later than 7:35 am (Sunrise is 7:34am, with first light at 7:10am)

*** Route - on road, headed towards the lake and up to park entrance & back to playground where started = 1 mile

I plan on getting there a little early, around 7:15 am. I know there’s a few tables located closest to the lake from the jungle gym, so that’s where I’m thinking will be the best place to meet. There should be plenty of parking. It might be kinda cool (51 degrees) that morning so dress appropriately.

We’ll start walking or running no later than 7:35am. I’m a walker, but both runners & walkers are welcome to join. I’m not a speed walker, so walk at your own pace. Up to the entrance and back is approximately 1 mile. If you want to do a different route, like include the dam, feel free to do your own thing. I’m just getting back into a regular walking routine and wanted to make it beginner friendly for everyone.

Afterwards, I’m thinking of heading over to Twisted Nutrition for a protein shake. They don’t open until 9am on Saturdays, so hopefully we can make that work. You’re welcome to join me there too, if you’re interested.

Good morning all! I’m starting this page, hoping to meet ladies who are interested in walking or running with a group of new friends, who are looking to increase your fitness & stay healthy.

Hello, my name is Nan Stacy & I recently moved to Madisonville. I moved from Rockport TX, where I joined their local She RUNS This Town page. Even though I’m a walker, not a runner, the group invited all to their weekly Saturday Shuffle. We’d meet at 7am at the Daily Grind coffee shop, located in their cute little downtown area. We’d take a quick selfie group photo, then set off running or walking the adjacent waterfront area. Between 2 - 5 miles later, we would meet back at the coffee shop for a morning cup of joe or tea. It was a great way to meet like minded people & make new friends.

Since I’ve moved away, I really missed this weekly activity! We also had a group that worked out 3 days a week at the park’s Fitness Court. I still try to maintain walking daily, but I’ve been slacking & I’m regaining weight that I had lost. I’m hoping to form this group & get back into these workout habits.

If you’re interested, please join this page and let me know if you’d like to join in for a Saturday Shuffle. I’m thinking Lake Madison Park would be the perfect location, meeting at the back by the park swings.
