What an exciting day for our Madison Station family! We will surely miss our incredible leader, Mrs. Martha Hanna, but know she has instilled MSE’s values and love into our new leader, Mrs. Kara Davis.
Madison County Schools is proud to announce that Mrs. Kara Davis will serve as the next principal of Madison Station Elementary School. Stepping into this role is a natural fit for Davis, who currently serves as an assistant principal at the school.
“Serving our community through Madison Station is one of my greatest joys,” says Davis, “Each day brings new opportunity for life, laughs, and love.”
Mrs. Davis begins her twentieth year in education this fall and has been with Madison County Schools for sixteen years, serving as a classroom teacher, literacy specialist, curriculum specialist, and assistant principal.
“Throughout her years in Madison County Schools, Mrs. Davis has sought opportunities to grow and develop as an outstanding leader,” says Madison County Schools Superintendent Charlotte Seals, “Her commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and creative mind will continue to be assets to our District and administrative team.”
Davis will be only the fifth principal to lead Madison Station, which has twice been named a National Blue Ribbon School during its 30-year history. The school has a distinguished track record of excellence in academics, arts integration, character development, and fitness and wellness.
“This new year will provide another opportunity to show our state that Madison Station is ‘Here to Stay,’ which is our school theme for the 2022-2023,” says Davis, “Families can expect to see Madison Station continue to lead the state in student proficiency and student growth. We will work together to support each other and our community, while sparking a love of learning in our children through exposure to the arts. We are better together, and it is an honor to link arms with each of our families to engage their children in rich daily programming.”
Davis and her husband Brady have two children, Whitney and Amelia. Mrs. Davis will assume responsibilities as principal effective July 1, 2022.

Emma sure loves this one!
Mrs. Terri Davis was the anchor of our third grade hall for many, many years! She would push students to meet unimagined potential through a little love and a little push.
Mrs. Davis, your Class of 2004 remembers you and we sure do too!

It was Pizza Day in 2nd grade today!
We had so much fun using pizza as our theme to review graphs, shapes, fractions and time! We created a favorite toppings graph, made shape pizzas, used Play'dough' to divide pizzas into fractional parts and reviewed telling time by walking around the classroom searching for clocks.

Teacher Appreciation Week is here!
Anyone who has been around MSE for a length of time remembers Mrs. Norma Carroll Ezell, from the 5th grade hall.
Mrs. Ezell's signature statement was her bright red lips! On the last day of school she would freshen those lips, and kiss each child on the cheek goodbye.
Would you want to gift the memory of your teacher's legacy in the Jag Plaza? Your class can work together to make this happen!

Our May artist is Krista Randall who is also our nurse at MSE. She is originally from Nova Scotia, Canada. Krista became a nurse in 1995 and started her career in Greenville, MS. She fell in love with Mississippi and a sweet Southern fellow. She doesn’t consider herself an artist –more a doodle-er, but after taking a little art class for fun, she’s been doing it ever since. Krista loves doing custom paintings to match your décor or to welcome a new baby home with a door hanger. She also enjoys taking an old painting and recycling, reusing and repurposing it into something fresh and new. A few of her pieces remind her of the small coastal fishing town of Nova Scotia. She primarily works with acrylics, but also uses alcohol inks and some watercolor. Krista uses a lot of texture mediums and resin coatings to give some paintings a certain depth. Her primary nursing job is school nurse here at Madison Station. She says that the school, staff and students are amazing, and that even though she started in January, it feels like she’s always been here. Krista and her husband, Buck, like to travel, but also love relaxing at home with their three dogs, family and friends.
Affordable pricing and amazing art! Come check out what Nurse Krista has shared with us.
