It was wonderful seeing some of our MIS students and families today! The positivity and excitement from so many of our families was a great reminder of what makes Madison Local Schools such a special community.

We can’t wait to welcome our 3rd and 4th grade students back on Wednesday, our 5th and 6th graders on Thursday, and ALL students on Friday!

📢 Madison Intermediate School Pick-Up & Drop-Off Procedures

Families, please take a few minutes to review our 2026–2027 pick-up and drop-off traffic pattern before the first day. Following these procedures will help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.

🚗 Morning Drop-Off

• Drop-off will begin at 7:30 AM.
• Students may enter the building at 7:30 AM can eat breakfast at that time.
• Please enter the property on the east side of the parking lot and follow the designated traffic pattern around to the back of the school.
• Continue through the line and pull all the way forward to the cone when directed by staff before allowing your child to exit the vehicle. This will help us move cars through as quickly as possible.
• Please remain in line and exit the property as soon as your child has been dropped off. Do not pass cars in front of you.

🚌 Important Bus Information

• When buses are ready to depart, remaining cars may be temporarily held so buses can exit safely and on time.
• Once the buses leave, car drop-off/pick-up will resume.

🚙 Afternoon Pick-Up

• Please follow the same designated traffic pattern and remain in your vehicle.
• Staff will direct you when and where to pull forward.
• Please pull all the way up to the cone when directed so we can load multiple cars efficiently.
• Please do not pass cars in front of you.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we get everyone familiar with our new traffic pattern! Following these procedures will help us keep our students safe while making arrival and dismissal as smooth and quick as possible.

Please review the attached map so you are familiar with the traffic flow before arriving at school.

The Madison Intermediate Office Staff is getting excited for all of our students to start!

This year, we will be renting out our BIG ROCK to our families! If you would like to paint the rock for a birthday, special occasion, or special celebration, simply fill out the attached form. All of the information you need, including what you will need to bring, can be found on the form.

We can’t wait to see everyone in just a few short days!

Attention Intermediate Families:

We are finalizing our car pick-up procedure at the Intermediate School for the upcoming school year. As part of this process, we will be issuing new car tags with assigned numbers. All previous car tags will be void and can be discarded.

To help streamline the process, please call or email Laurel Kauffman, our building secretary, to request a car tag for the upcoming school year. She will make sure your car tag is available at Open House or sent home in your child’s folder on the first day of school.

We will also be issuing car tags and answering any questions during Open House on August 24th from 1:00–3:00 PM.

A map of the car pick-up area and where you will pick up your child will be shared in the near future.
