RVR Adult Education student success story.
My name is Brent Hudson, and I am 35 years old. I found out about the Rising Sun boot camp from my house arrest caseworker, who told me about the program. I told my brother about it, and we decided to attend together.

I wanted to better myself and get a better job. I am currently working at NAA, where I work 12-hour days, six days a week. I am getting a significant raise and promotion after earning my GED, so completing the program was really important to me.

I didn’t earn my high school diploma because I was a troubled child growing up. I took the GED test only once and passed. I enjoyed going through all the material before testing and reviewing things I had forgotten. I am so relieved to have passed.

I would tell others not to wait—just do it. Don’t put off your future. The class was a great environment, even with the challenges caused by snow days. We worked around the weather and made sure everything got done.

I will definitely tell others about this program. I am excited to now get hired full-time at NAA! Earning my diploma was the last thing holding me back.

William Hudson's GED Journey.
My name is William Hudson. I am 30 years old and live in Rising Sun, Indiana. My brother told me he was attending a GED boot camp class and recommended that I go with him, so I did.

I wanted to pursue higher education in the near future, probably college, so I could have better job opportunities. I was not working while attending the boot camp. I had experienced several physical and mental health challenges that caused me to leave the traditional school system before earning my diploma.

I was able to pass the GED after taking the entire test only once! The best part of the class was the teacher and the way they explained the material. The teacher presented the subjects in a way that I could understand, which made a big difference for me.

I feel great now that I am finished. I would tell others, “Yes, just do it! I wish I had done it a lot sooner!” It was an excellent class. I would encourage anyone considering GED classes not to put it off. Just do it!
