Madison Academy Mustang Band

Our end of year awards concert was a success! We want to thank all of the parents, faculty, and supporters who made this concert possible and memorable. Band students from grades 5-12 were awarded their solo and ensemble medals (51 superior ratings and 4 excellent ratings), our 5th and 6th graders were awarded their trophies for most improved and outstanding brass/woodwind/percussion players, and our leadership team even surprised Mr. & Mrs. Nash with gifts as tokens of their appreciation. We will also miss our amazing seniors, Caleb Burnett, Samantha Moseley, and Reid Renyer, who have led this band well in their time at Madison Academy.

Mr. Nash also announced our Band Officers for next year. Drum Major: Ella Corzine (rising 12th), Captain: Blaine Phillips (rising 12th), Lieutenant: Neil Perry (rising 10th), Librarian: Christian Arenz (rising 10th), Secretary: Sydney Davis (rising 11th)

Finally, the halftime show for the 2026 Marching Band is Neil Diamond! The high school band gave a sample of “Sweet Caroline” which will be one of the selections in the show. We cannot wait for you to see it!

We have had a busy past few months! Our band has had the opportunity to perform on stage at MPA in Hartselle, earning excellent stage performance and superior sight reading, our first of two spring concerts where both bands made an amazing performance, and our first round of Solo and Ensemble this weekend. Come see our end of year concert on May 7 at 6:30pm in the MA performance center! The best is yet to come!

So incredibly proud of all of our 5th, 6th, and 7th graders in the Beginning Band and their efforts! They have been working so hard, and we are so excited to see them perform again at our Christmas Concert on December 8th with the High School Band!

What a fun way to spend our first football game of 2025! Homecoming week and Alumni Night! Thank you so much to all of the alumni who came and played with us!

Welcome to the 2025-2026 Band year!
The Madison Academy Band is growing and we would love to have you in it! The Band program is led by the incredible Mr. Johnny Nash and he is looking forward to meeting you. Many friendships are built in the band and it is such a fun place to be. This is your chance to try something new and meet amazing friends and be part of a close-knit community! We are in great need of Color Guard as well; we would be so excited if you joined us! There is no need for any experience to join, we’d love to have you! Introducing Mr. Johnny Nash!
Mr. Nash has been a teaching for 43 years and he even started the Madison Academy Marching Band in 1988! He has helped so many students with their musical goals and we are excited to welcome him back as our Director of Bands. He has a great goal for our band and is encouraging anybody to join, no matter what past experiences you’ve had, or if you’ve had none prior. Mr. Nash tells everyone, “If you can count to four, you can be in the band!”
