Translating Socialist Realism: Evolutionary Encounters Across Turkey and the Soviet Union, by Nergis Ertürk, Associate Professor of Comparative Literature, Penn State

Beginning with a short overview of the literary relations across Turkey and the Soviet Union in the early twentieth century, her talk will focus on what she calls the second moment of intensified communist translation and literary production in Turkey during the late 1930s and 1940s.
