Forgot to post our pics from Teacher Appreciation week. We were spoiled, loved, fed and treated to games and gifts! Great time celebrating the hard working people in this building. Thank you to our community sponsors and of course Discovery Middle PTA.

Thank you to Dr. Nichols and the BOE for recognizing our Girls soccer team! An undefeated season, Madison city cup championship, and Madison County Championship! Thank you to our 8th graders that brought the cup back to Hughes Rd. Coach Shiflett and Coach Baty did an amazing job with this group and we’re already looking forward to a repeat.

Thank you to Dr. Nichols and the BOE for recognizing our Lady Panther Softball Team! Coach Rolfe, Coach Dunn, Coach Garner, Coach Swain, and these players completed a worst to first en route to Discovery’s 1st County Softball Title in school history! Thank you to our 8th grade girls that believed in each other, hard work, and a commitment to setting the standard for Hughes Road softball!

Reminder: Madison City Schools will be having a virtual e-learning day on Monday, May 18. Assignments will be in available in Schoology for students to work on.
In-person classes will resume on Tuesday, May 19.

🎯 HUGE congratulations to our DMS Archery Team for earning a bid to Worlds! 🌎🏹
Out of 997 teams and more than 15,000 archers, DMS finished 112th overall — placing us in the top 11–12% in the world. An incredible accomplishment for this team and coaching staff! 💙🖤
Several of our archers also achieved personal best scores during competition:
🏹 Theo Piper scored a 279/37 and finished in the Top 100 for 7th grade boys.
🏹 Rhylan Holcombe scored a 274/78, also placing in the Top 100 for 7th grade boys, and earned membership into the “50 Club” after hitting all five arrows in the 10 ring during one round.
🏹 Mackenzie Sanford scored a 270/100, earning a spot in the Top 100 as well.
We are beyond proud of the dedication, focus, and determination this team has shown all season long. The future is bright for DMS Archery — and Worlds, here they come! 🐾
