Earlier this week, ONPAR had a great time at the White House Tech Jam, showcasing our digital tools in line with the White House's initiative for "Better, Fairer, Fewer Assessments". Special guests included Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-Oregon, 1st) and Secretary of Education John King!

A big thank you to our teachers at Beloit’s Cunningham Intermediate School. The ONPAR team enjoyed having the chance to meet and get feedback from teachers, and we are very excited to work with teachers as we begin piloting our digital tools this school year!

Come experience the most recent developments in standards-based assessment research from the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER) at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Participate in 3-dimensional science instruction that uses both formative assessment prompts to elicit (and build on) students' preconceptions and summative assessment items to collect data on students' progress towards NGSS standards. All participants will qualify to pilot this new digital product in their classroom!

English Learner teacher expertise needed!
The ONPAR project is looking for teachers of ELs in the greater Washington DC area to conduct a bias and sensitivity review of our digital assessment materials. These materials are a set of online formative assessment tools aligned with college and career readiness standards in mathematics and science and are specially designed to assess ELs in an accessible way.
Who: Three to five EL educators who have worked with students at the middle school level (Grades 5-9).
What: Educators to review bias and sensitivity guidelines, and attend an in-person, approximately three-hour meeting in Falls Church, VA.
When: Tuesday, August 23, 10am-1pm

We are currently seeking teachers to conduct reviews of ONPAR assessment materials.The work is virtual and monetary compensation is provided.
Who: Three to five mathematics educators and three to five science educators at the middle school level.
What: Educators write reviews of performance task storyboards and provide feedback during one-hour online review meeting.
When: Individual reviews will take place over a one-to-two week period, and group review meetings will take place during one-hour online sessions listed below.
Science Review: Thursday, March 3, at 3:00 p.m. CST
Math Review: Tuesday, March 8 at 3:00 p.m. CST
Compensation: Participants will be compensated $150, contingent on completion of review.
Total time commitment: 4-5 hours total over two weeks.
