The Forward Festival is happening this week and is Madison’s flagship technology and entrepreneurship festival.It attracts over 2,000 attendees and includes 8 full days packed with 40+ events organized by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs. Join fellow entrepreneurs, nerds, designers, geeks, hackers, foodies, and creative professionals from the Midwest in a celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Hey guys! I wanted to share a few things for those interested in entrepreneurship, being a part of a startup, or starting your own business:
-Join MBA Entrepreneurship Association – Let Alex Yampolsky or Steven Merry know if you want to join.
-There are a ton of events and resources on and off campus to help you learn and connect with other very talented and driven people click here (https://bus.wisc.edu/~/media/bus/k-e/insite/insitequickpage_1-13-16.ashx)
-Our Engineering school has an annual event where you can get involved with a team and help develop new IoT (internet of things) products and come up with plans to take them to market. Learn more here (http://www.iotlab.wisc.edu). They had their kick off in early September last year.
-The WARF puts on great talks on variety of entrepreneurship topics. See past events (and watch vide
os) and watch for upcoming events (http://www.warf.org/through-programs-and-events/for-inventors-entrepreneurs-and-researchers/entrepreneurons/entrepreneurons.cmsx)
-The Wisconsin tech council (http://wisconsintechnologycouncil.com) has great events at discounted pricing for students. I attended a few last year and walked away with many new contacts, coffee networking dates, and tons of notes and ideas. They also host an annual business plan competition that provides a lot of help and publicity, and $$$ to the winner.

Transcend Engineering, the campus hub for entrepreneurs and innovators, is set to host Transcend Madison - Innovation Competition. The competition, to be held at Union South, aims to bring students from across disciplines at UW-Madison together to demonstrate their novel ideas and creations. Unlike previous competitions, anyone can compete—all you need is an idea; all you need is hustle to win.
This competition will combine all aspects of entrepreneurialism, so a winning idea will exhibit: a novel idea, a valid prototype, a tested business model, and, most importantly, great ex*****on. Cash prizes and other perks will be awarded to Best Overall, Best Prototype, Best Business Model and Fan Favorite.

Spring semester of 2015, three students in the Entrepreneurship Association from the University of Wisconsin MBA program were able to Attend the 2015 Start Up Conference outside of San Francisco. With close to 2,000 entrepreneurs, the Startup Conference is one of the largest conferences in Silicon Valley for starting your startup, learning how to pitch VCs, find co-founders, launch your product to the press and more.
