"One would hope our administration would seize this opportunity to provide students with a living wage. Instead, it took a herculean effort of lobbying and activism by the Student Labor Action Coalition and other student organizations to convince Blank to approve this minor and effectively inconsequential wage increase." - College Democrats of UW-Madison

Last week we attended a meeting of United Way of Dane County where Chancellor Becky Blank was scheduled to speak. We handed out fliers to the attendees about how student workers need a living wage to survive. We hope the Chancellor listens to our plea for a desperately needed $15 minimum wage for all campus employees. We would also like to thank United Way of Dane County for tackling issues of poverty and working to affect change for those in Madison need it the most.
