As Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month comes to an end, together we must support and take action for our Black brothers and sisters. From small acts like speaking out against our friends and family who make racist comments or educating ourselves about our history in America, let's come together in solidarity to further create a more just and compassionate world.

Here is a resource that has a list of some ways we can take action: https://medium.com/awaken-blog/20-allyship-actions-for-asians-to-show-up-for-the-black-community-right-now-464e5689cf3e

Edgewood College students walk out, confront staff about racial injustice 03/01/2018

I hope those who could attend the walkout saw how desperately we need change in administration at this institution. We need representation for people of all walks of life but, at the same time, can't put all that on one person. It is a privelege for us all to be here and we should use it as a platform to discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion. As part of ASA's mission statement, we aim to form unity, educate on Asian American culture, and to promote higher education to others and I think, with the use of this group and our voices, we can truely make a difference for our community in terms of diversity and inclusion. If you couldn't attend, here is the clip from channel 3000 news and you can see some of what was said.

Edgewood College students walk out, confront staff about racial injustice About 100 Edgewood College students dressed in black in solidarity and walked out of class on Wednesday to attend a student-led listening session.
