The Madison Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends was formed in 1938 from a group that had been worshiping since the 1920s. It is affiliated with the Northern Yearly Meeting, which is composed of monthly meetings in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, and North Dakota. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance are just step one.” Gather at 9:45 a.m. for information and worship sharing about the symptoms of bereavement and what makes grief get stuck. Silent worship nourishes the soul and summer and Sundays can be busy. Maybe distance is an issue.
You have options: Join via Zoom. Attend one of 6 worship groups in places like Appleton and Wausau and Dubuque. Come worship on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.

Resident Friend position open
Our Resident Friend (RF) does administrative and property management for Madison Meeting. Work time averages about two hours/day (60/month). The RF must live in the three-bedroom house next to the Meetinghouse for a monthly rent much below rates in the neighborhood. Begins August 15.

The RF works with Meeting leaders, Assistant Treasurer, and the Buildings & Grounds Committee to manage rentals and address issues on the property and at the two buildings. Some Madison Friends will be at Mary House of Hospitality this Saturday, May 30, 9:30 am for the Spring Workday. You are invited to join in the work and community at this pre-Civil War farmhouse near Wisconsin Dells. [You won't need a coat like these folks at the fall workday.] Mary House offers hospitality to low-income women and families visiting inmates in the Federal Correctional Institution at Oxford, WI.
