The WMAA social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) are produced and maintained by the WMAA, an office dedicated to keeping medical alumni and medical students c

onnected to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH) and each other. The purpose of these pages is to facilitate a positive community for MD alumni and MD students with topics relevant to the UWSMPH. While we welcome and encourage postings, the WMAA reserves the right to remove comments, links, photos or other content that it deems off-topic, obscene, a violation of intellectual property rights or privacy laws, commercial, or otherwise illegal or not germane to the purpose of these pages. Our status as a public institution also means that the university has to comply with certain legal requirements when responding to complaints about a post or requests for posts or comments to be removed. With limitations on what the university can remove, we focus on responding with additional information and resources for members to consider in the alternative. "I graduated from UW urology residency earlier this summer, and it feels so surreal! I absolutely loved my years in Madison as both a medical student and resident. UW is an amazing place to train, and I am so grateful for the experience.

I just moved to Cedarburg and just married Michael, who works for Exact Sciences. We are so excited to be in the Milwaukee area, where I'll soon start my job as a General Urologist at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton - I am so excited to start my career! 🥳"

It's WMAA's 70th anniversary, and hopefully you've received the latest issue of our Quarterly magazine in your mailboxes by now - also available online (in part).

This issue includes feature stories—"Curious Minds: School’s Innovation Pipeline Leads to Better Health” and “The Alumni Effect: Badger Physicians Improve the Health of People and Populations Across the Nation and Beyond.”

Other articles highlight the new WMAA president; 100 years of the school’s Statewide Campus; the career of faculty member Jeff Nirschl, MD, PhD; creation of an endowed scholarship to honor the late Murray Katcher, MD ’75, PhD ’72 (PG ’78); and much more.
