The Division of Public Health (DPH) in the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is recruiting for two Radiation Compliance Investigators within the Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health (BEOH). These are entry-level positions with minimum qualifications of:
Experience or training working with various types of radiation producing devices.
Experience or education including scientific methods, math or scientific analysis (e.g. biology, statistics, physics, chemistry, computer science, data analysis).
With training, the Radiation Compliance Investigator will plan and conduct surveys of radiation installations in accordance with statutory mandate to prohibit and prevent exposure to radiation in amounts which are or may be detrimental to health. This work includes planning and coordinating activities related to the detection, surveillance and monitoring of ionizing radiation; developing procedures and methods to be followed in conducting radiological health studies; and providing expert consultative services throughout the state concerning the use and monitoring of x-ray devices. As a member of the State Radiological Emergency Team, this position will provide technical support for statewide emergency response to accidents involving ionizing radiation.
