We are getting closer and closer to the finish line on our Thoreau LMC renovation! 🎉 The construction is nearly complete, with the new carpet being installed now. Our beautiful new furniture is expected to arrive at the beginning of October, and we can’t wait to see the space come together!

We are also getting ready to welcome our amazing staff back on Tuesday, August 25. We’ll spend the day learning together, collaborating, and planning for a wonderful school year ahead.

And then, it’s time to welcome our students! 💙

As we get closer to the start of the school year, we’re also getting closer to the finish line on our library construction project!

This week has been full of exciting progress, including the installation of the air conditioning unit and other HVAC components, glass going into the windows, final paint touch-ups, and the start of the ceiling installation.

Next week, the team will wrap up the air conditioning, finish the ceiling, and install the carpet! 🎉

We can’t wait to share the finished space with our students and staff. Stay tuned for our next construction update!

🚨 Enrollment Opens August 5!

The countdown to the 2026–2027 school year is on! Starting August 5, MMSD families can complete online enrollment for students in all grades.

Returning to MMSD or joining us for the first time? The enrollment process is simple and fully online.

Don’t forget—every student must be enrolled every year. Complete enrollment for each child and get ready for another great year with MMSD!

The Thoreau Library renovation is making great progress! We are hopeful that construction will be completed by September 1, with furniture in place and books organized by October 1.

We look forward to welcoming families to our Fall Student Showcase on the evening of Tuesday, October 13, where you’ll have the opportunity to see the new library space. More details will be shared soon!

We can’t wait for our students and staff to enjoy this beautiful new learning environment.

📅 Mark Your Calendar—Online Enrollment Opens August 5!

It’s almost time to enroll for the 2026–2027 school year! Online enrollment opens August 5 for all MMSD students in every grade.

Whether you’re a returning family or new to MMSD, you can complete the entire enrollment process online from wherever you are.

✨ Incoming 4K families: You can enroll now! 4K enrollment is already open, so there’s no need to wait until August 5.

Remember: Every student must complete enrollment each school year. Be sure to enroll each child for the upcoming school year.
