What a meaningful day of learning, collaboration, and celebrating the power of Community Schools! Today, seven Lake View staff members joined more than 200 Community School practitioners from across Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota at the 3rd Annual Wisconsin Community Schools Conference, hosted at Madison Schools - MMSD Vel Phillips Memorial High School!
We were so proud of how Lake View students and staff shared their talents and expertise throughout the day! β¨οΈ
π Our Hmong Dance Team delivered a beautiful performance celebrating Hmong culture and language, thanks to the support of Principal Vang-Vue.
π€ Two Lake View students represented our school and shared their voices and experiences on the Student Discussion Panel.
ποΈ Governor Tony Evers addressed conference attendees, presented a proclamation to the Wisconsin Coalition for Community Schools, and officially declared that his office will be officially celebrating Community School Coordinators Appreciation Week this September. β€οΈ
π Ms. Rachel, Community School Resource Coordinator, presented "From Idea to Award to Impact and Beyond: A Practical Guide to Writing, Winning, and Managing Grants."
π€ Ms. Eve, Family Liaison, and Ms. Mark, School Psychologist, led the workshop "Teaming, Connection & Outreach: Strong Relationships Supporting Success."
Days like today remind us of how crucial Community Schools are in ensuring that every child has what they need to thrive. We also know how important professional learning opportunities like this are to stay connected to Community Schools leaders supporting similar work in their communities. We continue to be inspired by the incredible work happening across Madison, Wisconsin, and the Midwest every day! ππ
