5.11.26 - monday

heyooo okay so it officially feels like summer yayyy bc i technically had nothing to do all day! this morning i had some yummy brekky and josh and i watched euphoria before going a walk (weather was sooo nice!!), then finished the episode. i listened to like a bunch of marimba and snare solos to get ideas for my senior recital tooo, then lunch time. i did some practicing with mallets on my bed and also made some perc studio insta postssss. josh and i watched more euphoria and ate dinner, and then it was time for the billie tour movie/documentary thing! we made a yum candy salad (don’t worry we didn’t eat all that) and the actual movie was awesome and her tour looked soooo cool i wish i could’ve actually gone in person. but it was 3D too and that was fun bc idk the last time i saw a 3D movie! anyway now im home and eepy so bedtime 💤

We had our final Chamber Percussion Ensemble concert this past Wednesday and it was so fun!!!

The first half featured works by Hubbard, Socolofsky, Treuting, Beyer, Flens, and Casella. Not only did we have great chamber pieces for percussion, but also some contemporary berimbau rep!

Congrats to our Symphonic Orchestra percussion section on an amazing final concert of the semester!! You guys did amazing as always 🤩

We had a big group of our percussionists performing in the Concert Band + Wind Ensemble concert this past week, and they all did amazing!! 👏🏻👏🏻

Concert band enjoyed playing works by Piunno, Grainger (conducted by the wonderful Capt. Collins of the Navy Band), Bassi, and Reed. Wind Ensemble followed with works by Lindveit, Mackey, Grainger, and Sousa (also under the direction of Capt. Collins)!

Come to our World Percussion Ensemble concert this Friday 5/1, 7:30pm in Music Hall!

We will be playing music from Brazil, the Middle East, Java, and Bali, PLUS the Gamelan Ensemble will be performing for the first time along with us!

THIS WEDNESDAY ‼️

Come see our Chamber Percussion Ensemble concert this Wednesday at 7:30pm in the Mead Witter Concert Hall!

We will be playing pieces by Hubbard, Socolofsky, Treuting, Casella, Venet, Lee, Dillon, and Burritt. Plus, we will also feature our Berimbau band, who will be playing two contemporary Bau pieces!
