International Friendship Center

Our IFC Fun on the Lake event at Lake Wingra Boats was a fantastic day of outdoor fun! IFC friends enjoyed kayaking and paddleboarding on the lake, followed by a picnic and time to relax and connect with one another. The beautiful weather and great company made for a memorable day on the water. Thank you to everyone who joined us on such a sunny summer day!

The UW Arboretum is always a great place to appreciate God's creation - nature in all its beauty! Our IFC friends had a relaxing time among all the beautiful plants. We even saw a huge tree that needed THREE of us to fit around it! Keep swiping through for some lovely flower photos, as well as a nest of baby birds that we came across 🥹🐣😍

The heat was on at the Chili Cook-Off at Living Christ a few weeks ago! 🌶️🔥🥣🍲

We had a great time trying delicious chili recipes, having lots of laughs, and building friendships together. A few of our students even walked away with raffle prizes—what a fun surprise! 🎉

The IFC has had some really engaging classes lately! ✨ Alongside our regular class time, we had so much fun in the kitchen creating savory mushroom puff pastry appetizers and a sweet favorite - cinnamon chip scones. From learning together to sharing laughs (and plenty of taste-testing), it was truly a delicious activity all around!

Do you know what Easter really is? We had the opportunity to explore that question together at the "What Is Easter?" event at Upper House. The evening was filled with a delicious meal, a meaningful viewing of "Magdalena: Released from Shame", and thoughtful conversations over dessert. Our international friends learned how Jesus died on the cross for our sins as the ultimate sacrifice, and how that means we are forgiven and loved unconditionally. We hope you are able to celebrate this joyous occasion!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️

Over the weekend, IFC friends enjoyed an early St. Patty's Day dinner at a local Irish restaurant. The students tried traditional foods and really enjoyed it! It was a great evening filled with good conversations, laughter, and a nice time together.

Last month, the IFC was able to listen to a jazz concert at Der Rathskellar in Memorial Union! About 15 students came, and it was a beautiful evening of Bill Roberts Combo, a jazz-blues style of music. We enjoyed eating, talking, and hanging out together. What's your favorite type of music?

It's Employee Appreciation Day, and the IFC wants to recognize our one and only Director, Judy Tang! Judy brings such a light and joy to all those who come to the IFC. She is always ready to help others, answer questions, and loves meeting new people. There is no IFC without Judy, and this is truly her life's work!
