Looking for unique, socially responsible, handmade gifts this year? If so, you can enjoy the fun and festive atmosphere of the 25th Annual Fair Trade Holiday Festival on Saturday, December 4th at Monona Terrace (Exhibit Hall A) in Madison. From 8am to 3pm, there will be hundreds of fairly-traded, international products for you to choose from--the handiwork of weavers, knitters, metal-workers, wood-carvers, and creative artists from around the world. Over 40 vendors will offer Fair Trade clothing, foods, jewelry, books, cards, ornaments, baskets and more.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT: Savannah Byers
Savannah Byers is a junior at UW-Madison, pursuing Marketing and Graphic Design at UW Madison and is very passionate about the creative aspects that come with marketing and running a business like, The Artisan Collective. She has been in The Artisan Collective since spring semester of her freshman year and has loved being a part of this organization because of the rewarding, hands on experience it provides as the team runs a business that makes a social impact. She was formerly on the Marketing Team, where she helped run the social media accounts and attended various fair trade sales. Now as a Co-Director, Savannah has been helping with the rebranding of the organization from Wisconsin Without Borders Marketplace to The Artisan Collective and has been working on various projects with the goal of driving sales and creating a fun and fulfilling experience for all members during the school year.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT: Taylor Eilers
Taylor Eilers is a senior at UW-Madison, pursuing a BBA in Operations Technology Management, International Business and Supply Chain Management and Slavic Studies. Besides The Artisan Collective, Taylor is also a member of Multicultural Business Student Association, and Rotaract. As newly appointed Co-Director, Taylor is looking forward to using her education, past learning experiences and role as co-director to support this organization’s membership involvement, inventory management, and website sales fulfillment process.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT: Jordan Main
Jordan Main is a junior studying Biological Systems Engineering with a focus in Natural Resource Management. She studies how people impact and are impacted by the environment, and being involved sustainable, fair trade fashion has been very rewarding her. Jordan has been facilitating connecting TAC social media with the virtual store and doing content creation for Facebook, Pinterest, and revamping the Artisan Collective blog.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT: Yvette Sanchez
Yvett Sanchez is currently a sophomore pursing a degree in Textile and Fashion Design with certificates in Sustainability, Design Strategy, and Entrepreneurship. Besides being a part of The Artisan Collective she is also a member of Re-wear It and the Student Retail Association. As a facilitator for the organization, Yvett is looking forward to using her past learned skills to lead projects that share the artisans’ stories and their amazing work.
