The Greater University Tutoring Service (GUTS) was created in 1974 as a student organization dedicated to empowering University of Wisconsin-Madison students as active, independent learners and to cultivate a prosperous educational environment. Students, peer tutors, and staff work together through a system of cooperative learning to foster their personal and academic growth. GUTS is the largest s

tudent-run, volunteer tutoring organization in the nation. Each year, GUTS assists thousands of UW-Madison students succeed in their educations thanks to the generous spirit of hundreds of volunteer tutors.
