𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫? 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭! 🌿 Our docents are an important part of the Nature Center, helping visitors learn more about the incredible wildlife and ecosystems at Hammonasset Beach State Park.

No previous experience is necessary. We provide training. 🐢 If you enjoy learning, meeting new people, and sharing your love of nature, we’d love to have you join us!

Over 100 pounds of trash removed from our shoreline yesterday! 💙 A huge thank you to the 65 volunteers who came out for Coastal Cleanup Day, including 13 students from a local school. Together, they collected everything from cigarette butts and small debris to broken cinder blocks and even a buoy!

That’s more than 100 pounds of trash that is no longer on our beaches or making its way into Long Island Sound. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and helped make a difference. Your time and hard work help keep Hammonasset Beach State Park cleaner and safer for both people and wildlife. 🐚🐢

Help us capture change over time! 📸 Have you spotted the Photo Station at Hammonasset Beach State Park at the end of the Cedar Island Trail? It’s part of a unique community science project that uses visitor photos to document how the landscape changes over time.

It’s easy to participate:
1) Place your phone in the bracket
2) Snap a photo
3) Scan the QR code to upload it.
