SAVE THE DATE: Grandparents Day!

Please join us on Friday, September 11th as we celebrate the wonderful grandparents who bring so much love, wisdom, faith, and joy to our families.

⛪ All School Mass will begin at 12:00 PM

Following Mass, Pope John grandparents are invited back to Pope John to visit classrooms, see what their grandchildren have been learning, and enjoy a little time together at school. ♥ Pope John students may leave with their grandparents.
✨There will be no extended care on this day!

🍦 Looking for a sweet way to end the day? Stop by Dairy Queen for a treat! 20% will be given back to Prince of Peace Schools!

⚽ Lady Hilltoppers Battle Under the Lights at Switzerland County

The Shawe Jr. High Girls traveled to Switzerland County tonight to take on the Pacers. Due to the heat, the game was pushed back to a later start, giving the girls the opportunity to play under the lights.

The Lady Hilltoppers found themselves down 1-0 in the first half after Switzerland County scored on a long shot that tipped just off the outstretched fingers of Harper Denning before finding the top of the crossbar and the back of the net.

The Lady Hilltoppers went into halftime trailing 1-0. Both teams continued to battle back and forth in the second half, but the Pacers eventually found the back of the net once again to make it 2-0.

Despite the final score, our girls continued to fight hard all night. Our offensive players worked tirelessly but struggled to find clean scoring opportunities against Switzerland County’s quick and aggressive defenders.

Our defense once again played a tremendous game, making several big plays throughout the night. Ruby Bear and Harper Goddard came up with several key defensive plays, while Lillian Hay, Selena Reyes Miranda, and Mia Flint also turned in strong defensive performances.

Harper Denning had another strong showing in goal, making several great saves throughout the night. She finished with 13 saves on 15 shots on goal, keeping the Lady Hilltoppers in the game and showing tremendous determination between the posts. 🧤⚽

We are proud of the effort and determination these girls showed tonight. They never stopped battling and continued to support one another from start to finish. Keep working, Lady Hilltoppers! 💙⚽

The Lady Hilltoppers are back in action Thursday at home against Seymour! Come out and show your support for these hardworking and dedicated young ladies. We would love to see a great crowd cheering them on! 💙⚽

The Shawe Memorial Boys XC team ran a few short on Tuesday night but had a good showing on a hot night at the Tiger Invite hosted by Crothersville.

Shawe had six runners participate in the meet and all had good performances.

👏Cohenn Hambrick took individual honors in the meet placing 1st with a time of 18:37👏

Sam Gish placed 4th - 20:20

John Paul Guetig - 11th - 21:59

Tanner Sims - 17th - 24:19

Jorge Ambrosia- 18th - 24:21

Luke Gardner - 24th - 28:09

The boys run next this coming Saturday at Ceraland in Columbus - host of this year’s Regionals.
