Come get your plants! The MHS FFA Plant Sale starts next week, May 13th! Lots of petunias, some tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers, and an assortment of other fun things! The greenhouse on the northwest corner of the high school, enter from the north parking lot!

The Madison Central FFA members competed in their second and third CDE's recently! We attended Howard on Wednesday the 18th and Tri-Valley on the 23rd. Our Howard CDE was our final practice competition before our first qualifier. At Tri-Valley, 2 teams, Meats Evaluation and Vet Science, placed first out of our district and qualified for the State CDE's in Brookings! Our other teams will work to punch their ticket this upcoming Monday at our District 2 competition in Arlington. Congrats to all of our members!

Our members competed in their first CDE of the season on Monday! Congrats to all of our members for their hard work, and a special congrats to Seth Klein, Vivian Johnson, Blake Feldhaus, Braelyn Abraham, Aedan Klawonn, and Addison Voss, who all placed in the top 10 individuals for their contests. Each contest typically has over 100 students who compete, so this is a testament to their dedication to ag education! Our next contest will be in Howard on the 16th, stay tuned for updates!

Day 2 of National Convention! Our members spent their time growing their leadership skills in different workshops, cheering on other South Dakota chapters at the awards session, and loading up on all sorts of goodies at the College and Career Expo/Shopping Mall. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Karen Anderson and the Schultz family for dropping off some snacks to keep everybody going! We’ve got one more day of Convention excitement, and then we head for home!

It’s that time of year! Madison Central FFA is in Indianapolis for the 98th National FFA Convention. Our members are participating in workshops, attending business sessions, and having fun the whole way there and back! We got to attend the World’s Toughest Rodeo tonight, and can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings!

Yesterday, the Madison Central FFA Chapter had our Harvest Meals Community Service Event! Our members prepared over 200 meals and took them out to the hard-working men and women who are bringing in the harvest. We would like to thank everybody who made this event possible, including the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, Lofton Covington/Ace Hardware, and DeLon Mork/Dairy Queen. We couldn't have done it without you!

It's Fruit Sales time! Madison Central FFA has begun their annual Fruit and Pastry fundraiser. We are also selling Stensland Family Farms Frozen Cheese Curds this year!
