Meet one of the Psychedelic Therapist's on our team, Travis Fox, PsyD!
I am a clinical psychologist with a private practice, specializing in gestalt therapy for adults. I have a particular focus on working with health care professionals, men, groups, and those with trauma histories. In addition to traditional therapy, I offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in my practice. My interest lies in exploring the potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness to catalyze healing and often to help reinvigorate the therapy process for those feeling stuck in their current psychotherapy. I am also a faculty member at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland where I offer workshops and teach in their experiential training programs.
Within the realm of KAP, I employ a somatic, interactional framework to support processing and healing during Ketamine sessions, integrating these principles into the preparation and integration phases as well. Before incorporating KAP into my practice, I joined the Protea lab in 2020, approaching the study of altered states and medicines in a rigorous, scientific manner. My goal is to contribute to understanding the effectiveness of these treatments, refining and developing them to enhance accessibility for those in need.
Currently, I serve as a researcher in the lab, fulfilling the roles of assessor and therapist/facilitator for psilocybin-assisted therapy and 5meo-DMT trials. I have also undergone training in M**A Assisted Psychotherapy with MAPS. Outside of my professional pursuits, I find enjoyment in nature, family bike rides, and live music.
