Join the School of Business on Wednesday April 29 at the Fluno Center to hear Joseph Lyu - Chairman of the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) give a lecture on Taiwan's role in the shifting sphere of emerging tech.

On Tuesday, February 24. The East Asian Legal Studies Center, in conjunction with the Center for East Asian Studies at UW-Madison will be hosting a talk with acclaimed lecturer - Terence Roehrig on North Korea and their nuclear weapons program.

The event will be taking place in the Law School. We hope you'll stop by and join us!

Had a fantastic visit to Sao Paulo and Mackenzie University, courtesy of Dr. Luciano Timm and his firm, Carvalho, Machado & Timm. The course went well, but another highlight was a chance to meet with leading Brazilian business people, policy makers, and lawyers for an informal exchange of views on global economic affairs.

Wanted to share a nice story about EALSC's longstanding program supporting student internships in East and Southeast Asia. Most students have gone to Bangkok or Vietnam, thanks especially to our friends at Thammasat University and the YKVN firm, but last summer we supported an intern in Taiwan and we would love to expand to other legal markets in the region. For students reading this, the application season has begun!

Interning Abroad As Evan Feeley’s ’25 classmates lined up summer plans around Wisconsin and other states, he packed his bags for a destination more than 8,500 miles away: the Ho Chi Minh City office of YKVN, a leading law firm in Vietnam.
